My first join and reply after all these years! You asked, “Should I keep posting videos like these?” Yes please. Great fun! I’ve been researching BMW, as a replacement for my Road King Special and your videos have been extremely helpful. Then it came down to gs or rt and again, your videos were very helpful. Did contemplate the Multistrada but quickly dismissed. Well I pick up the gs on Friday. Having some engine guards, risers and highway pegs put on before then by the dealer. Thanks for your informative videos and keep on rolling the tape!

Reading your review of the R1250RS swayed me and bought one last September. The boxer engine does grow on you and I find I am enjoying it more and more. The R1250 RS has been great and the only issue has been an intermittently playing up steering lock.

I nearly bought a GSA back in 2015, but once I took a Tiger Explorer out for a test ride I was sold, the engine is just a peach. Ok, there’s no electronic suspension on it, or fancy LED headlight, but I love it. It’s just had a big service, with the throttle bodies balanced, etc and it rides like new, if not better after a new clutch slave cylinder was fitted after the original one failed with a bad seal. It’s got a heated seat and grips which were part of a promotional deal at the time, along with the panniers. I’ll never get rid of it and if it needs any major work, I’ll just stump up the £’s and get it fixed as it doesn’t really owe me anything now as I paid cash for it back in 2015. Got a trip planned to Finland this summer to visit friends out there. Keep the vids coming Andy. Xx

My GS is almost identical to yours except it has ABS Pro and keyless. I was quite envious of the TFT when it was first released but that has worn off. Still love my GS after 7 years!! They are a great bike - I owned 2. However, I now have the latest model KTM 1290 Super Adv - it is effectively a GS with better handling, brakes and a turbo. Much better bike....and, yes, I rode the GS1250...
@Hemlck
@Hemlck 2 жыл бұрын
The KTM is a beast…but….it’s no GS beater. I put 3000 touring miles on the KTM and then swapped back to a new 1250 GS and did another 5000 miles. The GS is comfier, and handles luggage way better than the KTM, and doesn’t have the faults of the KTM ( the worst being that the seat wouldn’t go in its highest position without falling back down!) oh and the shaft drive a a million aftermarket parts….👍
@troppo4872
@troppo4872 2 жыл бұрын
@@Hemlck it depends what you want....if pure touring is your bag, I agree, the GS is better....but 6th is still a bit low for motorway droning.

@@troppo4872 I rarely use motorways…but tbh I found that the KTM was good here..I actually used the cruise control as the radar thing made it very useful …as someone who doesn’t really think cruise control is needed the KTM system made it useful…it’s a good feature👍

Hi Andy, love your channel. Just sat in hospital after a hip replacement so won’t be riding for a while. Your vlogs will help me get through until I can ride again. So Thanks for great content. And yes, the GS is the best all round bike. Had one a few years ago and will get one when this hip is working again! 😀

Great blog as usual. I am a Brit living in So Ca. (Better weather here!) and ride a 2015 R1200GSA. Best bike I’ve ever owned, I have around 33K miles on it, and have many aftermarket additions, including many you’ve recommended. I’ve riden the newer 1250GSA, but I agree with you that I don’t notice enough of a difference to make me want to trade up. Previous bikes were all Kawasakis, from ZX11, thru ZX12s and Concours 14, but the Beemer is by far the best, not the fastest, but the most comfortable and the easiest to ride. I’m not a flier, but I am a sailor, and a sports car driver so I appreciate your multi-transport perspective. Keep it up.

Another really enjoyable vid. Treated myself to a Thruxton & been riding it a lot - new bike syndrome, but went to the Cat & Fiddle on Sunday on my GS & it reminded me what a fantastic bike it is. Agree that if I only had one bike, it would be the GS. Thruxton is fun, but GS is a keeper. Might treat it/me to a heated seat too. Stay safe 👍

Another great video Andy! I actually love this sort of content, as well as the “scran” videos with your buddies. Would love to see these built in (scheduled) on a Monthly basis. Especially love the GS (I’m a GS 1250 owner based largely on your recommendation). But it would be good to see your own bikes - your thoughts, and comments about your interests, plans, etc. Great content, and always look forward to your new ones. All the best - Jim

Mr Flyer, great little ride out, very conversational I even found myself answering you. Having owned a standard GS and two GSA’s the last one I sold last September they are an outstanding bike. But also a bit like Marmite when it comes to dividing opinions. I look forward to your touring vids. Tally oh.

I love these type of videos, its like being on a sunday bimble with you. I also love the flying vids, they are so chilled and show a hobby that most of us will never experience, can't understand why they don't do so well! As to suggestions for future reviews, perhaps you could review all 3 generations of the loverly FJR1300 and compare them to each other. I own a gen3 but often wonder if the gen 2 and gen 1 models would have given me the same capability but for less money. Could do a back to back series looking at the GS, RT and Triumph Bonnivilles for example. Anyway great work as always, cheers!
