I have had my “Litl’ Blue” 2017 BMW i3 BEV 33Kw 94Ah since 01/25/2021. I bought it in showroom condition from an original owner with 24k on the odometer. I’m 75, drive it about 30-100 miles a month mostly to pick up online ordered groceries and to visit the VA clinic. I use a 240V, 16A (3.84Kw) Level 2 charger in my carport routed inside as an alternate to my dryer outlet. I get 13.5 miles per hour of charging and at home my FPL electric cost at $0.031 per Mile. If there is a more perfect EV out there, I simply don’t want it. I don’t need more range, acceleration, styling, features, reliability, comfort, handling, or value. Litl Blue is obviously my Forever Car. Paid $16,500 but was offered $24,000 by Edmunds 3 months ago which tickled my worn out ego.

I’m an owner of a 2018 i3 ReX; the BMW service center in Irvine wanted $950+ to change my 12volt battery. Talked them down to 750 but otherwise I’d take it home and change it myself. But tow charges (150) BMW service would charge me 225 for diagnosing the problem (that charge is taken off if you do the service with them) cost of battery 175, cost Odb reader Foxwell 150 to register battery with the car all add up almost the same as letting BMW service do it. Don’t get me wrong… I absolutely love my i3 but I will certainly buy the Odb reader for future use.

Just a tip 💡 did you know you can replace the cupholder underneath the armrest to the front of the midconsole?! There are three points you can place the cupholder (you can even place two next to each other) You have to pull the midconsole cupholder in a upward movement pretty hard, but it allows you to have so much more space under the armrest! 👍🏽

Bought a 2014 i3 REx last year and am liking every feature of this car, even those features like suicide doors that might be a nuisance to some reviewers. Not only that, the battery even held up great during our harsh winter in Toronto early this year! Oh, guess what, I even got the same i3 die-cast model as yours 😄! Agree to most of your statements. Doesn’t that extra cupholder fit onto the front one, ours does so we have two in front. Our car is from 2014 and still looks and drives like a new car. We love it.

I didn’t even know the cup holder could go in the center storage. I got mine with it up in the front. P.S. I think the doors are clamshell doors since true suicide doors don’t require the front doors to be opened. Clamshell doors do.

I have the exact same i3! You need to get Bimmercode to make program the mirrors to automatically fold in when you turn the car off -- amongst other things.

1:43 I downloaded the Beemer app and purchased the OBD port unit. I bypassed the govern and can use the gas at 70% battery. It HOLDS the charge at that range.

It's a decent EV but the cost of the tire replacement is gonna be costly if any puncture or damage. They chose a very limited unique wheel and tire size that's gonna be pricey.
