Good review, but I prefer that exotic sounding 5 cylinder and the overall character of the Audi! Definitely biased since I just took home my 24 RS3 yesterday 😅

I totally agree with you on each of your “points” that you make and award each car. It was one of the tools I used to purchase a 2024 M2 with the 6 speed manual. Absolutely love it and have zero regrets. The more you drive it the more confidence it inspires. Both are great cars. Any owner of either of these cars is lucky and should be grateful someone still makes real, affordable sports cars.

Gotta consider some people might give the RS3 the point for having a dual clutch transmission. RS3 has 4 doors, better exterior and interior styling, cooler engine, has awd, weighs less... They are both good cars but for me I see the RS3 as more impressive. I think the 4 door M3 xdrive AWD is a better match for the RS3 even if the M2 and RS3 have very similar performance figures.

Well many of the things you’re saying are just personal preference and are completely subjective. I like both cars for different reasons, they’re very different cars in my opinion. I’d almost say the RS3’s real competition in the BMW lineup is more like the M340i or the M440i Grand Coupe. It wins that battle in my opinion, and it’s supposed to, but I don’t think it competes with real M cars and I don’t think it’s trying to, if it was it would not be a 5 cylinder. The S58 is superior in every way to the 5 cylinder, that is not up for debate, it’s a cool engine and its quirky, but S58 is better and many would argue the B58 is better as well with a lot more potential, many would argue the manual 6 speed is better than a front wheel drive biased awd as well. The M2 is a drivers car, with really big power potential, a tried and true engine and trans. I think the M3/M4 are competing more with the 3.0+’s Audi RS4/RS5/RS6. The RS3 almost has to compete with the M2 and M340i/M440i, just because of the way it’s configured. The M3 and M4’s are big boy cars, Audi’s 3 series are not that and never have been. The numbers alone don’t correlate, 3 is Audis smallest car and they’re already smaller than BMW’s, BMW starts at 1 which offsets their lineups and skews them. B58 and RS3 are both about 400hp, S58 is more like 500hp, those are different weight classes, and if you want an AWD system, BMW’s xdrive is brilliant and it’s actually RWD based unlike the Audi’s FWD based AWD platform. I hated the M2 when it first dropped but I have grown to love it, it looks incredible, it’s aggressive and muscular with wide hips, it’s just a beast of a car. But I also could see why someone would prefer an RS3, it’s more comfortable, it’s more usable and functional, the leather is better in my opinion, it looks really nice and it’s kind of a sleeper that’s going to whoop most cars on the road. Can’t go wrong with either. If you made me pick out of the 2 exact cars in this video, I’m getting red pilled. It looks nasty as fuck I haven’t seen many red ones, love the black wheels with the red specifically.

For me, it's the RS3. In Daytona Gray Pearl, the car looks spectacular. The best thing about the M2 styling is you don't have to look at it while you're driving it. RS3 is also an excellent highway cruiser. From what I've heard, the M2 not so much.

I am tempted by M2 mostly because its M car however no doors at a back and RWD only kills it for me

M2 all the way. I was torn between these 2 as well. Owned a few tuned S3s and a Porsche 981 Cayman S. Researched both the RS3 and M2 for months. There's an M2 sitting in my garage. No regrets whatsoever.

M2's front end looks kind of (Buck toothed) to me but the RS3's grill is huge compared to the hood size so both lack some in the looks dept, I watched your videos and I know you had a lot of fun driving that M2 and kept wowing its handling so I give a point for that (fun factor) and would probably buy an M2 if I was buying.

Yeah that’s why I gave it a point for Handling. They are both phenomenal cars but the M2 is more phenomenal IMO

One advantage you missed about the RS3 is it has Dual Port injection.What does 17 years in the automotive business entaii?Would you buy an M2 over the Integra Type S even though it weighs about 600 more lbs.?l

The Integra Type S might be 20% lighter, but the M2 has 50% more power. 17 years in the car business (sales) informs that in my area (Southern California) Acura dealers are still asking for (and sometimes getting) way over window for the Integra Type-S and if you know who to ask you can get a couple grand off an M2, so the price gap is significantly narrower than it appears on paper.

M2 forsure. Just looks so unique and musclar. Better perfromace. Better interior. The rs3 looks like a blob. I wouldnt even be able to tell if it was a brand new 2024 or a 2018 honestly.
