Team Schnitzer Motorsport testing the 2004 BMW M3 GTR at the Spa Francorchamps in preparation for the events held at the track. Jörg Müller is testing the BMW M3 GTR during the FIA GT test session, held on 6/7/2004.
The #142 car, driven by Jörg Müller, Dirk Müller and Hans-Joachim Stuck, became the G2 Class winner at the 2004 Spa Francorchamps 24 Hours race.

I played a lot of GTR2 and this track with the BMW M3 GTR was one of my favourites to do in Time Trial back in 2007 when I first got the game for my birthday in my junior high school years. :) Especially the engine sounds which GTR2 got it nearly close to the real thing.

Yeah its pretty good. The closest one out there is the rFactor NLC VLN mod. That is the best sounding one

@@TurboAfterlifeRacing do you have any more of this official footage? specially from 2001 when this car debuted, the alms stuff sucks and has the commentators all over the place. It seems only a German source might have stuff recorded, there is a video of this car too that BMW made, in a private test day, short clips of the 2001 car starting full beans with launch control, then there is more onboard stuff but can’t be found anywhere, I’m talking without annoying commentators or whatever. The p60b40 has such particular scream, it’s incredible specially the intake it feels it’s gonna kill you when this car is coming at your direction full throttle

Yeah I noticed this. There are many factors and reasons why it was like that. This is a test session so he would definitely be pushing the car to its max to find the latest braking point. With this, he has to downshift quicker, which is much harder when you have to heel+toe each gear. He also has g-forces and gravity working against him which is a factor.

Whats the specs for the 2004-2005 versions? Ive searched about pretty much everywhere and most of it is info of the ALMS or Road car versions but not for the Endurance version built later that ran VLN, Spa, ADAC 24hrs. Some sources say 493 hp with 1120kg curb weight and some say around 1300kg and 500hp. Were restrictors used for this car? And whats the numbers it does on paper? No idea. Also the dont know about torque either

this was the car with the silencer removed from the exhaust which made it breathe at around 500 horses and exactly 500 torque

500HP 1250kg Top speed approx 285km/h FIA GT REGULATIONS The car did have restrictors, but the restrictors were less restrictive compared to ALMS. Only an exhaust silencer catalytic converter system for VLN and N24 due to Nuburgring regulations.

@@TurboAfterlifeRacing That you give specs is from road versions 380 hp 1250 kg but Lemans version specs is 450 hp (444 bhp ) @7500 RPM redline is 8500 RPM , weight is 1120 kg.

Apparently, after Underground 2, Ryan Cooper got many sponsors and money so he could buy the GTR and customize it with his own livery and street race it illegally.

Then on the way to Palmont he lost it to a truck load of pipes falling on it 😢 He made a good career for himself doing legal racing after that, but eventually turned back to the streets and got arrested on his massive bounty from rock port. What a shame. Hopefully some day soon he gets released and buys himself a new gtr. Or maybe he finds the same one! Rumor is, there’s one driving around lake city recently…

@@beno996 The actual video is 50fps, which is very smooth and the desired fps for any motorsport video or live. Geforce Experience records at 60fps or 30fps, so I record at 60.

@@beno996 This was the prime of Spa, adjustments made in 2004, which lasted till 2006. The best version of Spa in my opinion.
