BMW M3 Touring (G81) Satin PPF Transformation

In this episode we protect and transform this 12 month old BMW M3 Touring with STEK DynoMatte Self Healing Paint Protection Film. This gives the M3 a great new look and protects the factory paintwork in the process. It does have a few existing stone chips, but the owner was happy to preserve the paints' condition

No polish before ppf?

No - we would only polish if it has some deeper scratches or swirl marks. Paint was generally good and all PPF adhesive fills swirl marks, plus the PPF prep process marrs the paint very slightly (squeegee water off the panels). The other reason to polish would be a ceramic coating being present, which would cause issues with the adhesive sticking properly on deeper recesses and panel edges. A good question though - a lot of places charge extra for polishing before installation, but 99% of the time this is totally pointless (and probably not even done!).

and also why did not you made paint correction? If I wanted to watch some yoga pants, this would have been the video. simply, you ruined a masterpiece

Very few places in the UK have indoor wash facilities unfortunately - would love to have one!

PPF fills very light swirl marks, so we only polish if a ceramic is present and want to clean the paint. Otherwise this is largely pointless as the PPF prep processes will mark the paint very slightly anyway. If the car was older or the paint was very bad condition, then we would do paint correction first, followed by a thorough rinse to remove any polishing dust, before PPF.
