It’s just a matter of what the driver does. The cars seem to have exactly the same performance. If one of the drivers take off first, the car wins the race. Whatever that car is.

@Home Creation Na they lag as well especially the 5 series have seen a bunch of drag races where it would short gear with launch control and mess up very common issue on m5

The BMW leaped ahead in the second race that run doesn't count if the Gt's run didn't count. Cars are so close it comes down to the driver's great content.

The M5 didn't jump start in any of the races, I think. It was down to reaction time by the drivers. That's why in all the races the better reaction time won the race. Overall, I think that those cars are very closely matched. However, I feel like the GT63s is a little bit quicker. Great video!

Exactly how I would write the comment. There was no jump start from the m5, just better reaction times. And yes the AMG was the faster car, but they are super closely matched. Thanks a lot for this great overview 😊

However the GT 63s is way over priced and is not a derivative of the AMG GT but built upon the E63s. For value wise M5 wins.

Good drag race. Both cars have almost the same power to weight ratio. Its amazing that the 1/4 mile times of the fastest combustion engine cars mirror the 100 meter sprint times of the fastest humans - 9.6-10 secs is phenomenal. 10-11 sec is brilliant. And 11-12 sec is excellent.

SUV races would be cool！ BTW can I ask you something? I'm trying to find a used F90 M5 recently. But I noticed some people have short shift problems during launch control in M5s and end up not running well through the first three gears. Rumors said that cars coming out after 2019 like M8 or X4m/X6M got better launch control. Do you feel any difference of the launch control system in the M5 from M8? In the video it seems continually being fast without any problems.

@@jamisonz3365 yes this is true! Look for the 2019 model with the new software for the 8 spd ZF gearbox. The issue is fixed there.

You're right. People are confusing jump start with great reaction times. Jump start is when they jump before the "go" or "green"

So the AMG has a faster 0-60 and quarter mile, but the BMW has the faster 60 ft and 100-200km/h. Very interesting results and numbers. Then again, this particular AMG holds the record for fastest 4 door sedan around the Nurburgring and it did faster than the M5C in a whole 10 seconds. Nonetheless though still both very fantastic cars you can’t go wrong with any of them. And great video too 👍🏼

From what I see. It depends on the driver, one takes off first that wins. Nothing in it. The GT definitely handles better and I think looks better and sounds better so I’d go for that. Plus the interior is way nicer.

Nurbergring lap time is best way to know which car is faster in his class therefore the gt 63s is The fastest mass-produced sedan in the world. Even in this race, it is known which sedan is faster at 1.4 miles according to acceleration information

@@rabelanichristophertshidad2425 Lol no its not. The M8 is a proper coupe. Would compete with the SL63 normally. The GT63s is a “4 door coupe”. Competes closest to the M6 Grand Coupe.

On Nordschleife with 2 professional drivers, the GT63 was 13 seconds faster. This is not opinion, this is objectivity. You can cry about my name if it helps you sleep at night, but im speaking raw data and facts, not opinion. Get over it

Mercedes had the best quarter mile time so it won this one. But, this is 2018 m5 competition with unreliable launch system and 617 horsepower. The 2020 m5 competition has very good launch control and 625 horsepower. If it was 2020 amg gt63s vs 2020 m5 competition, it would be a close race but m5 would win by a slight margin. However, it's worth noting that the competitor of AMG gt63s is m8 grand coupe competition and m8 dominates in its class.

Don't think there's any difference in hp figures between the M5 Competition and M5 Competition LCI. They both have 625hp or 617bhp.

I had the chance to put my butt in the GT63 at the dealership, and I was also able to go in a 540i XDrive comparable to this M5 and it must be said that the GT63 is more luxurious. It's rather equivalent to a Porsche Panamera. The equivalent to the M5 at Mercedes is the E63 AMG.

Why disqualify the merc in the 4th round for a jumpstart when the BMW did the exact same thing for the first two rounds ?

The difference is that the Merc went before the hands started falling down, where the BMW did have a better reaction time in the first 2 starts, but it still went after the hands started falling down. I hope this clarifies :)
