if the ccv is starting to fail, would it smoke continuously and or on cold start up?

330i M54. Vehicle was given to be as abandoned unk current history but previous owner mentioned overheating in 2018 when he gave it away to be crushed. Unk if repairs were done. I was able to get the car started today, changed oil, and new gas. Engine runs good with a little clicking I think is the DISA. 172k. After 5 miles of city driving heavy smoke came out of exhaust under acceleration. Minimal smoke when idling. No issues with oil that was changed or replacement and no bubbles in expansion tank. I did the test with removing the oil cap while the car was running and it was easy to take off and no change in the sound of the engine. Friend told me it could be the buildup in the exhaust system burning out or CCV. This vehicle is from CA and does not have cold climate package. The vehicle has been in Alaska with little used since 2018.. Any suggestions. Love your channel. I have a 318i that I have been working on and your videos have been very helpful.

Hi i have a 2008 bmw 535xi and i replaced the valve cover gasket and the oil filter housing gasket but when i do a pull on 2nd gear the car smoke from exhaust blue smoke this happened after changed the valve cover help

My car pumps out alot blue/white smoke after driving for about 5-10 minutes when the engine warmed up. Happend after i had my cars dpf deleted at a tunershop. Ive ordered a new crankcase breather valve but i dont know if that will fix it.. Any suggestions?

where is the oil catch can going? is it better to vent the valve cover hose or connect to vacuum? I thought you stated in another video that you would prefer to keep the dipstick hose a breather? do you think you could make a video of the new procedures?

So my M52 isn't blown up, haven't ran it for 3 years and the last time it ran it smoked like a chimney. No coolant in oil and no oil on the plugs. So is this my problem?

Hi Nathan. I seem to have had a CCV catastrophic failure. I did not know what it was and drove the car. It made it home then started tapping lightly. Bluing was intermittent. Idle was very rough then OK but still ran. I just sealed the Throttle Body. I knew about the CCV due to idling. Is By-passing something I can do to clear it and just leave it that way? Emission's is not an issue here. It has about 300,000 miles on it. Thx.

Does this problem happen with the 2005 645? It's lets out blue smoke if you stopped at a stop light for a while then when you hit gas then you will see puff of blue smoke

Those hoses crack all the damn time I’ve been driving around with electric tape on mine for about a year and I finally have to change it I see the white smoke starting to get thicker I already have the part I have this gift where I can diagnose anything that can move somehow so I always immediately know what’s wrong with anything kinda like a six sense I guess but it’s saved me thousands upon thousands i can’t even afford my car but I can with my gifts so unless your like me or rich you should probably stay away from a bmw

hi, nathan,, i just bought 2013 x5 a week ago, but i see white smoke coming out of it , my vacuum shows only 1.2 in/hg,, no change even with high idle rpm. Dont know much about coolant level coz i drove only 180 miles after i bought it, oil level is at max and engine area looks clean. it drips black color stuff from exhaust , dont know if it is coolant or oil, white smoke does not feel like oil burning. Car does not overheat at all, Please guide me what to do ? i m good at changing valve cover gasket but not sure if that would solve white smoke issue. i have not opened spark plug for any oil coz there is no burning oil smell from engine area. Let me know what to check and how to start in this case.,, thanks

i have a 2005 x5 white smoke coming from the tail pipe would recommend doing this or just replacing the ccv vaule system all together.

FYI: I passed emissions in Utah just capping the intake ports and venting crankcase to atmosphere. Complete CCV removal.
