@Bikes Camera Adventure I wish I would have known you were going to be doing a LIVE STREAM of this...I would have been on here with you to work through it. Glad you were able to get the job done. Hey many thanks! This Live stream wasn't planned and with out a camera person it's hard to show people. You do great work and I really apricated all the details you put into your videos! I think a future live stream would be great as I'm guessing a lot of people have questions about working on their BMW's.

Thank you for the educational content. I have been contemplating doing this but needed a video to see whaty it entailed. So thank you very much. This was awesome indeed. Now I just need to find the tools and other bits.

Glad it was helpful! But, to see a real master at work check out @boxflyer11 His videos give you a lot more information and he sells some nice tools to get it done.

Thanks for this video, learned a lot, I do not have these tools but have starting problems relating valve timing, I have to bring the bike to the shop having this done but I can check after this has been done if is was done right.

You are a brave man for taking this on. I watched Boxflyer's series on this and it changed my mind to NOT TRYING this on my own. But seriously, I am on the fence as to doing it myself or not. Luckily I still have a few more thousand miles to go on my GSA1250 before I have to make up my mind. Roughly how much did all the special tools cost you BTW.....Thanks again, good content.

I had my valves checked at a dealer recently and I don't imagine they looked at timing as they say "the valves never move" and instead are inspecting the cams so I almost wished i'd done it myself for piece of mind

I'm looking at ordering a shim kit...Anyone know what the outer diameter of the shims is? Or...a good kit link? preferably Amazon for the free shipping.

hey J, im calling you j because im jason too, how much would you charge if i bring you my bike for a valve check. Ive actualy done this twice, im at 36k now, but the last 2 checks didnt need it. I dont want to deal with this check if it involves swapping the shims. let me email you, jason. thanks for doing this, alot of people foud this more useful than the vids out there, like the one i used didnt have your tools.
