Thanks for your video and review! I ordered mine in Australia this week. Expected delivery June/July. I got the 1300 Trophy with added: Enduro Pro Package, Forged Enduro Wheels, Ant-theft Alarm, which comes in at AUD $39,089. I also added the Vario luggage kit II ($3400) and the 5 year service inclusive package for 5 years ($2311). That is the standard pricing, but I got a good deal/discount from my dealer here in Brisbane, Australia.

I'm so glad you liked it - DONT be discouraged if you dont understand our German as we dont speak textbook German, we're from Austria and have a very different intonation and vocabulary in comparison to Germany's German so beware and good luck in the future! :)

Great review!! Love your reviews in general. I put an order for the option 719 r1300GS and find it to be full of character. Like the ride of the boxer engine though refinements are welcome. I rode the Multistrada v4s and it did not grab me. Perhaps because I did not go on twisties or over 60mph. I may test the GT version. Would love to see a comparo when you get to it. Great work!!

Would have liked to have seen a night ride in the dark somewhere to look at what that crazy light can produce on the road. Also, I don't think there is an option for upper crash bars.

I was hoping there would be a review for the performance off road. I already have several motorcycles that do quite well on the road. Is this a worthy off road machine or is the last 1250 GSA version a better choice. Thank you in advance.

Those funs of the Honda NC 750 and the boxer engine will be delighted 😊…. Why BMW did not make a super motard with boxer engine and some capabilities off road and left the Gs as it was at least for a while?? Today the word small has been replaced by compact … nothing is small anymore (salaries, appartments,etc) but compact 😅

I did not have the weight data. BUT it is always the same comfortable + easy to use = heavy . Light=stripes, bags,….

I still feel a GS is a sport tourer and a good one, off-road is just sketchy on these big bikes. It needs a 21" front wheel to go that direction.

Good video, good comments. Good to hear some points of critique as well. Though I would have preferred the original German sound, with German and English captions. This English voice-over isn't great.

Other manufacturers over many years have tried to replicate the GS....now i feel the GS is trying to replicate other manufacturers. BMW have taken a risk with the more sporksbike orientated 1300 GS to appeal to younger non GS owners. Long live the GS1200&1250....I like the 1300GS is a true Adv bike anymore?

In very sporty driving conditions, the ABS system occasionally provides pulsating feedback to the front brake. This occurs especially when braking in combination with the front and rear brakes into the curves.

I wonder why they didn't based themselves on the older 1200 gs frame. That bike was 245kg standard. I'm sure they would have lost more weight as they based of the 1250 now. And to be honest, BMW is bragging with all the weight loss, but installing a lithium battery as standard is not a thing to be showing off with in weightloss as allot of people do that afterwards anyway. So all in all, they didn't lose much weight. I'f they didn't put in useless electronics for all those lazy people, it would've been much lighter. Other then that, they really did technological wonders with this bike, this will def set the standard fir the next decade. I won't be surprised if the GS will only get more powerfull or will get certain Sports variants like the "M" version.

I care about weight. When traveling for 6 months in 3rd world countries in garbage roads and tracks - weight matters. Thats a real issue. How did you find the weight compared to the 1250?

@@1000pscom If you provide English subtitles on the original German version, I believe many (non-German speakers) will be satisfied with that version also. A benefit to you will be much higher view counts, likes, subscribes, etc. for the original version and therefore your primary channel. For those who don't want to follow subtitles, the above version is a terrific option. I personally prefer subtitles since I enjoy following the original language versions, despite it being tougher to do so via KZfaq (than say for movies). Do what works best for you!

This is the most wishy washy review I’ve ever heard. Either your on one side of opinion or your on the other side of an issue but you cant be on both good and bad side of an issue. Pick a side and stand by it.

I think this is a significant issue! Many journalists believe they should take a side, not only in motorcycling but in journalism in general. That's not our job. My job as a journalist is to explain a topic. I have 20 years of experience as a motorcycle journalist, and this experience informs these statements. In the end, viewers must decide for themselves which side they stand on based on my statements.
