BMW R1200RT (2012), Aug 16th 2014. We only got a couple of laps this time where it was dry, so it was a relief to get out and have a bit of fun. Michelin Pilot 4 tyres.

i've done the same thing with my RT, amazing track and bike. Some bikers on that day were impress of the "track-capability" of that cruiser😎

Yes, I agree. Very nice riding. I own a 2013 R1200RT which I love. Same as yours, not liquid cooled. It’s an amazing bike all around. I’ve been riding RTs since 1981 and you do a great job riding it at the limit.

The bikes are great allrounders. I have an R1200s that is brilliant and some faster bikes but the BMW are great fun

Holy Smoke! I sure enjoyed watching that. Thanks. The faster you rode, the faster I ate what I was eating while watching this :) That's the touring bike and all! Is that the very latest 1200RT as of 2016/01? Thanks again, that was a thrill.

+staninjapan07 Thanks very much. No, this is a 2012 bike, not the water cooled. It's approx 110 bhp at the crank instead of the new one, which is 125bhp. I am hoping to take a quick bike one day, as the rt wouldnt really go over 120 on the ring. The bike I have at the moment is the 160 bhp s1000 xr and will carry much more speed at points of the circuit where you can let the bike have it's head

Love my 1200RT BUT the Queen of the ring (Sabrina Schmitz RIP) tends to put this lap into perspective when she did 8min 13sec in an old Transit van. Sorry,

Well if you were correct with the timings, you may be right but her transit lap was approx 10:09. Thanks for the comment. Hell yeah man you throw that big heavy beat around like it was a 125cc how long you been riding for? I just got my 05 1 year ago i love it first bike i might add

Hello and thanks. Been riding for around crikey… 40 years! Had a break from 88 to 96 but have done maybe 450,000 miles now. The RT especially that age are a brilliant bike. Be nice to have more power but the later ones for me, don’t feel as neutral.

Thanks for posting Really enjoyable to watch good riding. Have you seen the video of the GS riding the Ring. Another good one and he is overtaking sports bikes as well.

Nice ride dude. I've got the 2016 wethead. For a 4 seater sofa they're very agile. I like to chuck mine around and keep up with more sporty bikes, only I do it in much more comfort 😂

Not ridden a liquid cooled one much at all, but they do seem to pull very well. I rode a 1250GS last year and it went very well

Excellent riding on the RT, but please invest in a new camera and mount if you want to grow your subscriber base. I couldn't watch more than a few seconds before experiencing nausea.

That’s just an rt thing big windscreen lots of wobbles sure makes for a comfortable quiet not windy ride tho

Thanks for the comment and sorry for the late reply. It was a 2012 Twin Cam, pre liquid cooled. Loved the bike despite not having much outright power, it handled well for a big bike.

+Niels Schutten Hi Niels, i was running pretty much what i do on the roads, to 33-34 psi front and about 38 rear. Suspension will have been esa set for rider and luggage, and sport
