The R 18 Modified By Unique Custom Cycles
From the start, this bike may look like a super advanced build, but the frame is untouched, the gas tank is the same as is the engine. This is the result of an inspired craftsman’s work, good tools and a new BMW R 18 that got some affection and pride.

Just picked myself up one in Mars Red with a blacked out engine. This bike is gorgeous on so many levels and a blast to ride.

I love the vertical upright seating/riding position for daily riding, as opposed to being hunkered over the gas tank. And, these boxer-engined BMW's demonstrate that style certainly does not have to take a backseat either. Excellent! :)

Beautiful, I cannot wait to get mines. That said, it was a huge blunder to not have cruise control as standard on the first edition. I am only getting it because I saw that it could now be added.

Iv'e gone my whole life of riding without cruise control, my new Ducai X Diavel has it and I love it, to be able to give your throttle hand a break is great. The control of cruise with a drive by wire throttle is extremely precise... The R 18 is a stunning motorcycle!

Best design of the R18 yet imo. It’s just the cylinders that are still ridiculous to me. Looks like the plane right next to it.

BMW used to make aircraft engines for ww1 fighters. then got into motorcycles. they have always had a shift driven boxer since the first bike. its their signature

It sounds very similar to a Harley. But really, no engine sounds better at low RPM than a Harley shared crank pin engine, because Harley is one of the only engines in the world that uses a single crankshaft pin, for 2 pistons, on a V-Twin engine configuration. I don't believe any other new engine in the world uses that configuration, which is what gives the Harley 45 degree V-Twin air cooled engines that beautiful sound at low speed.

I'm looking to get a bar-hopper with a sporty edge...as a second bike to my heavily upgraded HD Roadglide. I've owned a few Sportsters and Fatboys before and I'm looking for something different this time. I like a lot of things about this BMW...dual front discs, inverted forks...even the look is pretty good. I understand the performance advantage of the flat twin related to cooling and low COG ....but, I don't like that you can't move your feet forward on a longer ride...blocked by the cylinders...and, question, don't your legs catch a lot of hot air coming off the cylinders?

To share about my experience with my new 2021 R18 Classic; in answer to the heat from the opposed cylinders it is much less than heat from my Road King!! Not uncomfortable at all. I have ridden on the road at 106 F temp out...not problem. I put on over 3000 miles already. More outstanding than I ever hoped ! It's an absolute joy to ride. Easy to handle and great mpg at very good speeds even above 75 mph. My average is 50mpg I am very pleased. Just today I received my accessories from Road Styler. A great product out of Poland. High quality at surprising low prices compared to anything else I found in the market. Engine guards front and back and backrest for pssgr and rear rack. I love this bike and it's my first one to cause me to say: " I will grow older til I cannot ride on this bike" I have a 1250 GSA and a HD RoadKing. Of 38 BMWs owned in my 56 yrs of riding this one has the most character and soul plus the heritage of all my past BMWs.

Die Nordic Stype Modifikation sieht extrem besser aus als die beiden R18 Standardausführungen im Schlepptau am Ende des Videos. Sollte sich BMW imo mal 'ne Scheibe abschneiden.

Is it road legal (in Sweden/EU) though? 🙃 Things I noticed: • license plate too small (not approved?) • rear light (not approved?) • indicators front & back (not approved?) • rear red reflector (not existing?) • side front orange reflectors (not existing?) • mirrors (not existing?) • exhaust (too loud?) I might be wrong and I don't necessarily agree with the rules, but I'm just saying...
