And that frame slider saved my knee once on my CBR600RR when some guy open a door in a middle of a road... Slider took the whole impact. Thanks R&G

Why so many haters. Tom is a nice guy. I think the stuff looks good. Plus it's his bike if he wants to put pink protectors on who cares. It's his.

Hey Tom, Just thought i would put my 2 bobs worth in about frame sliders. I recently was riding my ninja 250 when a 4WD pulled out in front of me on an 80kph road and to be honest frame sliders literally saved most of my bike. From an 80kph crash where the bike slid probably 20 metres i only had about a 5cm circle scratch on my fairing and a little chunk taken out of my exhaust and rear brake. The slider on my fairing was ground back about half way from sliding but in my opinion it saved a possible write off. So to anyone reading this, frame sliders from my experience do alot even at reasonable speed. Btw love the videos keep them up buddy :)

Exactly the same as my S1000RR now. Highly recommend the LED indicators though, and the R&G crash guard for the Akrapovic exhaust! ;)

This is the same as putting a case on your brand new phone, I rather take a risk of it falling than riding around with those ugly covers on.

@Egorbou9 жыл бұрын
I agree with the phone bit, but then again it's a bit of a difference case with the bike just because of cost. But to each their own.

@RidingWithTom9 жыл бұрын
The difference is that you don't leave your phone alone in carparks waiting to get knocked over, trust me once you have a car knock your bike over and pay well over a grand to fix it, you'll want protection

Hey Tom I was thinking of getting the bulk of the R&G items you have installed here so a timely vid indeed. Would be epic if you could provide some feedback on my questions. The R&G engine casings I haven't committed to them as the bike runs very hot most days and coming into summer i'm already seeing 100 degrees+. Have you noticed an increase in temp gauge readings post install? I'm leaning towards the yoshimura case protectors as they cover the portions most likely to get damaged in a slow drop or stationary drop type scenario and don't fully cover the engine casing, which allows for heat dissipation. In your fiddling with the oil and rad guard could there have been a more permanent way of fixing each piece? I am actually shocked the pack and instructions come with zip ties, unless I can find guards that somehow bolt in amongst the fairing mount points i'll have to buy these and custom up something myself. Cheers mate
@ruskiyify919 жыл бұрын
I love your watch. Also iv been riding my sv650 for 4 years now and 1 thing I can say is that I trust zip ties more then bolts. Bolts can unscrew themselves zip ties can't

I don't know how I feel about using cable ties to hold something that could flip you off your bike if it fell off while you were riding... but a lot of radiator guards seem to be designed like that

That was really fanny mate. You got thumbs up just for those first engine covers.

To be honest... r&g tail tidy is cheap and it looks it. I recommend the evotech products as they are far more premium looking and easier to fit. No soldering required and for the rad cover .. no plastic ties 👍🏼

I have to agree with some of the comments. Way too much R&G which detracts from the bike itself. I understand branding but that's just a tad over kill. i'm surprised they didn't make a "protective cover" for the bmw logos with more R&G to make it the R&G S1000RR.

@ImJoshinYah9 жыл бұрын
I dont think it looks bad at all. If you really care about your bike you'll get the protection for it, you rarely notice whats on it and im sure you'll forget about the stuff on it so it doesnt hurt anything.

The bolts aren't done up tightly so that if you crash, the bolts break instead of your engine casing cracking.

A little nit picky here, but I wish they would have made it so the logos on the first two pieces you put on were both horizontal and not one cockeyed and one horizontal. It would look a lot nicer.

@Bakkefication9 жыл бұрын
Nicely done mate! I hope you do more of these videos. Can someone tell me the purpose of the sock though?
@BradyMcwilliam9 жыл бұрын
Just for looks really. And sometimes it might be distracting to see a bunch of brake fluid sloshing around in the reservoir so people just cover it up.
@GrimmXD9 жыл бұрын
The real reason is that the sun can boil the fluid on a hot day, covering it up prevents this from happening.
@MultiMates79 жыл бұрын
***** if that is the case wouldn't you put the reservoir a place were it wouldn't get boiled like under a fairing were it would be protected by the sun
@BradyMcwilliam9 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure you would die before the air temperature got hot enough to boil your brake fluid. Because your brake fluid has to deal with one of the hottest components on your bike, the brakes.
@Cornish21Pasty9 жыл бұрын
If heat gets to the reservoir, it can evaporate the contents, therefore creating a gas inside the system, which can be catastrophic as it means that the brakes can feel "spongy" therefore reducing braking efficiency... The sock hepls to protect against the direct heat and sunlight exposure... Also the sock can contribute to the aesthetics of the bike...
