Tools Needed
Torque Wrench
Torque Wrench Angle Gauge
Cordless Ratchet (highly recommended, 31 bolts to remove and reinstall)
3/8" extensions
8mm long reach hex socket
T45 Torx socket
E10 External Torx socket
16mm Socket

Nice job mate! great tutorial. it's about time you get those Rod bearings replaced. Unfortunately my e71 X6M decided to spin a bearing at 168,000kms so I highly recommend doing it. haha

I have re-used my reinforcement plate bolts multiple times, probably not a good idea :D

I have too 😂 but it's not a good idea. Bolts that have tightening torque and degrees specs are stretched or de-shaped - may appear to be the same to naked eye, but aren't.

About to do this on my 2014 550i. Did you end up buying new reinforcement plate bolts? Since they’re one then use. Also, how are you able to measure how many mm of slack you have.

I didn't replace the reinforcement plate bolts, but you're correct - they're one-time use only. I eyeballed it, 6-12mm is about 0.2-0.4" but you can find specialty tools to measure the slack from eBay.

There was a chatter/rattle for 10 seconds or so at cold start, it's still there but fairly less.

@@E70MGaragethose sounds are actually from the 4 throttle bodies. Each cylinder has one. Sounds like a type writer.

Did you change your chain and chain guides? That is the only way to truly solve this issue.
