Pro Tip - you can pull the cluster out and remove the little bulbs behind the warning lights that are flashing/on if you're not using them. Did this in my M3 for traction control and airbag. Works likes charm!

This reminds me of my project car so much. It was sitting for 6 years before I got my hands on it because the previous owner snapped a timing belt and totaled the original engine. I've had it running choppy for about two months ago but just got it running right about a week ago after a year of working on it so I'm really excited (so much trial and error getting through lot rot). It's a very clean black 1990 525i e34 with the M20B25 and style 37 rims. Yours is much cleaner but mine looks like a bigger version of your car lol. Not very powerful but the amount of compliments and looks I get from passerbys has been quite an experience so far. Saw your thumbnail and it instantly reminded me of mine, though mine is just going to stay stock as a cruiser. I love how smooth everything is, and the M20 sounds amazing. Going to try and completely restore mine as close as possible and repaint it, redo the interior, etc. I absolutely love this era of BMW

Why did you relocate the brake booster? You can shave off the little fins on the side of the m50 intake manifold and the stock one will just fit! Thats what I did youll have zero issues

That dyno must be a savage one...or that's just an m52 with an s52 vanity cover. An s52 with an m50 manifold, headers, and a decent intake should dyno 220 at the wheels all day without tons of tuning. Plus it should pull all the way to 7200...7k at the very least. Interesting....

Jimmy, if you increase the INJ Timing during vanos will it pick up power? you can do this on RB25s with the VCT, on the RBs its normally 400° and increase it to 430-440° of injection timing during the VCT event. don't know much about BMW's so would be interesting to know.
