The cleaning of the vanos solenoids helped definitely but I think ledges might have been going bad

It’s the vanos bolts. There’s a recall. The factory used aluminum bolts. The revised the bolts with steel. Those alumni um bolts loosen or the heads break off and the car sounds like a diesel engine.

@@iamurnamann8662 mine was actually as simple as the oil filter was missing it’s stem and the oil filter was collapsed and the Exhaust side Vanos Was in fact Gummed up with so much deposits so much that when you shook the solenoid it wouldn’t even click or engage so I cleaned both up and new Mann filter+Oil change and I’ve been good

But I have heard of those Bolts backing out or people having issues with the cam ledges Due to wear, but I inspected all when I done valve cover All looked good(Very reasonable for 141K Miles)
