Genius!! Worked on my f31. The image of the window didnt flash up on the display, but still worked. My passenger window wouldnt go up automatically, but this quick fix rectified it. Cheers mate!!

Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial! Was at gas station and when I got back in the car my warning light for my power window anti-trap function came on and found it was my driver's that would not longer auto close. Looked in manual and no answer and was dreading a trip to the dealer for such a small stupid thing I knew would cost me my arm and leg! lol. I followed your instructions along with you in my car and voila! All systems back to normal and warning light is gone and my window is fixed, you are a gem!! Thank you again so much for sharing 😁

Great, great video. Thank you this fixed my right, rear E90 window and cleared the CC ID 259 code on the dash. It does auto up and auto down properly now.

Thanks for the video. Just wanted to say, my window was stuck down but when I hit up, it would move but not make any progress up. I tried this but what fixed it was pushing the up button several times in quick succession. Once it's out of the bottom position, it works fine up and down.

Thank you for the tutorial! Easy fix without spending a bunch of money. Mine did that this morning for the first time. My stomach dropped because that dreaded ding noise!! My car has left me stranded a few times and that darn ding always happens about 5 seconds before it stalls out. It now gives me anxiety anytime I hear it. 🙃 😟

Thanks Mark I have a 1991 E88, the passenger front door glass stopped working at 50%position with the same warning light on dashboard . I followed your tutorial and it didn't work on 1st attempt or 2nd attempt but 3rd time lucky. I also held drivers front window switch up for 15/20 seconds then same switch took the drivers window down released and held button down for around 15/20 seconds repeated this action 3 times, all windows now working and the warning light has vanished. Thank you.

Thank you for this video. I had no idea what this warning light meant because it is not on the list that BMW has on their website. I did notice when I got out of my car that my window was down, and I couldn't get it back up. I had no idea that the warning light and my window had any correlation. I will give this a try.

The steps above worked a little different to my 09 e60. Rear right window. Ignition on, Antitrap error selected in I drive in the info section. Rolled window all the way down (in increments) Release when at the bottom. Then fully press and hold for 17 seconds. Then immediately press and hold up, pressing up didn't do anything on on first try then I pressed again. Hold and the window should go all the way up to closed (keep holding) the window should return to fully open and then back to the top. Release button, clear I drive and then it worked perfect. 1 and a half years of listening to that F-ing beeping everyone I get in the car, finally finished! Hope this helped someone who like me tried every KZfaq tutorial but to no avail.

Didnt work for me. My warning comes on randomly, and when driving the window will open on it's own up and down twice when the light pops on. After it closes, the light goes away. 20 minutes later happens again. Also noticed that when closing or opening my sunroof shade the window will do the anti trap again and open and close twice. Regulator or switch problem? Any ideas? Alternator makes an odd noise and when I aggressively move the window switch up and down the car will idle much rougher

Bravo. Theres another way where you press the trip meter button for 17 seconds but this worked gd for me

On my driver's side rear window I have to constantly push button multiple times to get it all the way up or down, holding it down still won't work (and vice versa). Going to try this trick and see if it works. Will return momentarily. Praying this trick works like a charm because the warning ding and cluster light is so annoying. Lol.

My anti-trap warning light has been coming on.. I went through the reset steps and the windows are working fine but still the warning light is coming on and the RPM counter is fluctuating erratically also.. This started happening the same time as the anti-trap warning light came on.. Any insights as to what i should do.. Thanks.. It's a 54 plate BMW 1 series I have.

I unplugged my motor to keep the window up as I'm not paying almost $200 for a new motor and I get that error in my dash. However this procedure doesn't work, I even tried to clear the codes with my BlueDriver scanner it comes right back. Unsure how to fix this?

That sounds like you have another issue. Look at your tracks to make sure they are clear and free and then also the motor.

I got this window error on my 128i and after 1 week not driving it the error was gone and window functions restored. I did not disconnect the battery. Im sure the fix in video can work but there is also some automatic reset in the cars.

I checked the relays, fuses, changed the little grey box on the door, the black thing with the window buttons, even changed the wire hardness for the door. Still no power at all on driver door.😢😢

Any advice for us? We have tried this reset as well as window initialisation via a scan tool. Replaced the reg as wire was snapped when we bought it. motor tested and working - goes up with direct power but only goes down not up when using switch. Scan tool says switch is fine and physical inspection of switch says its fine too. What have we missed? Loom (in door) looks fine too

Sounds complicated. Do you have a multimeter? I would check the continuity of the wires to and from the switch and to see if power is leaving the switch when you are trying to wind the window up. I have same exact problem and literally dont know what the hell to do anymore!! I removed the door card and found the window was dropped down, I pulled the motor off thinking the regulator is faulty so i tried to manually push the window up with my hands and i got it up fine. The regulator was perfectly fine. So I then thought okay then the motor is gone faulty so swapped the motor out with 2 other motors from my other working cars but the same issue. The window will go down but it wont go up with the switch. I then thought okay lets change the switch then and did so but still same problem. I have even changed the wiring loom over from the other car and still the same issue!!!! Have tried insta window initialisation, same issue..... My passenger side works perfectly fine up down and auto up and down. the driver side down and auto down works but i cant go up or auto up. What the hell is wrong with it ? :( Please help im literally losing hair over this!

I’d say a multi meter is next. Test to of voltage is getting to the parts and back track from there

I had a guy put his obd computer to the car. It said the rear window relay was bad. The only power window relay we can find is in the fues box and it's good anyone know of anymore window relays and where they are located

hello friend, I need help, the windows of my BMW e90 2007 stopped working in an instant, only the co-pilot works, it goes up and down perfectly, the other 3 do not go up they do not go down, I thought it was a problem with the switches and bought all 3 new, also check the fuses and they are good, with the key they all go up and down normal, but the switches are not working even though they light up when the car is started, try to reset by holding down the switches and it does not respond. I don't know what to do :( I really appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

Sounds like you need to replace a module. Either gm3 or 5

In my case the window is going down just about 10cm and then I have to press again and again for about 5 times to go down and this technique is not working in my case 😕
