Ride quality seems to be getting worse as newer cars are introduced. Are we going backwards or is it impossible to make SUV's with functional suspension?

I just got my 68 plate jaguar e pace p200 AWD r-dynamic s in silver colour with 20 inch black alloys and cream white leather interior, it's a stunning car, it's quick to 0 to 62mph in 7.7 seconds an actual feels quicker, great smooth, quick comfy car an does look amazing too, best car I've owned an loving the 9speed auto too ,great job from jaguar land rover 👌👌

That's a pretty arrogant thing to say. Design is a subjective subject and cannot be scientifically determined. So no. The Jag doesn't have the best design. Nor does the other two. To me for instance, I think the volvo has the best design bu that is just my opinion. But you made your opinion sound like a fact..

The comment explicitly is a point of opinion (highlighted as I state “on design” and reference the objectivity of the review 1st), any organism with a brain cell understands that. My statement is my opinion on the looks of this car which I shared publicly. If the statement was alluding to being factual I would have said this Jag is clearly/Obviously the most beautiful. So get back in your box - if you don’t agree, that’s absolutely fine but don’t accuse me of passing opinion as fact.

I like the E-Pace but I think Jaguar did a fantastic job with the F-Pace instead. It is difficult to justify for the E-pace higher sticker price (no apple car play, no android car play, cheap materials, poor mpg, sub par engines, sluggish infotainment). Ian Callum does a decent job with the design but Jaguar needs to step back and tweak lot of different things to bring it back to competition. Jaguar seriously need to work on their pricing and if they want to be called a premium brand they should use high end material (leather, wood) to make the cabin look much better. You cannot compete with merc, bmw and audi with substandard materials. Another thing, they might have got much better with reliability from where they were under FORD but it still needs lot of other detailing to gain customer confidence. People whoever wants to buy a Jaguar, the first question they ask before anything else is it looks fantastic but how reliable is Jaguar even though with a 5 yr/60 K warranty Volvo maybe the best out of the lot but time will tell about the cheap Chinese parts reliability even though manufactured in Sweden. Personally I will pick the Jaguar I-Pace instead

Why use the Jag D180? Why not have a D240 with 30% more power. Not much point in saying it is slow if you choose their nearly slowest model.

BMW conjured the X2 like how the Volvo came up with the V40 XC, except that X2 is a more premium offering. But the new XC40 R Design is getting a lot of love at the moment, and rightly so.

Why would anyone buy an SUV with sport suspension and a harsh ride? The BMW and the Jag are a complete no go. The Volvo is the only choice here.

The jag looks like a crossland X with a swift front. What Im trying to Say is that its too narrow and looks like an akward crossover mpv. I do like the bimmer but when you se the overall FANTASTIC quality of the xc40 you understand Why it is car of the year

Due to its small size, aluminum couldn't be used and thus F-Pace is actually lighter than E-Pace and gets better mpg even though E-Pace is a smaller car

The E-Pace is based on the same platform as the Range Rover Evoque (JLR D8 architecture). Thus, it's built on a largely-steel platform. Despite such compact dimensions, the E-Pace is unfathomably heavy and actually weighs more than the one-size-larger, aluminum-chassis F Pace. I don't know why you bring a hideous car like Audi A2 in the conversation but E-Pace supposedly fights the Audi Q3

parked beside the XC40, the X2 just looks like a hatchback. It's small, it's FWD, and it's sold for women mostly. Cuz they'd have no problem fitting in, and they don't understand the fundamentals of how BMW became a premium brand, which is from its driver focused handling. Instead they see something that looks cute and mean, with a luxury badge, and they'd say it's the best SUV ever. I just see it as a more expensive, much smaller and much less practical version of the X1, but the X1 was at least good at a couple things.

I would choose the E Pace because I like Jaguar and the design although the Volvo is pretty nice too. However, I'm not buying that version. I'd most likely go top spec which is the HSE D240 but it's obviously going to be more costly, especially if you decide to build your own (which is what I'm going to do).

As a BMW fanboy I got to say that X2 is so fucking ugly what the hell were they thinking? Especially with the BMW badge on the c pillar it's just so ridiculously overdone. Jaguar>Volvo>BMW the Volvo would look better than the Jaguar in my opinion if they'd finally abandon those ugly rear lights going up the c pillar.

Volvo is cheapest because the badge can’t command more and as Geely have co-developed the platform to go on a local Chinese SUV, the architecture is cheap as chips (hence the wallowy ride). Spec adjusted, the Jag is cheaper than the Bimmer, slap a dynamic black pack on it and it’s by faaaar the best looking. Jaaaag for me!

Yalok Iy but JLR don’t share architecture parts with Tata. That Volvo chassis is lock stock common with a Geely. Not saying that automatically makes it inferior... but the architecture cost (hence refinement) will be limited by Geely retails as those cars have to be profitable.

The E-Pace is a Ford EUCD platform derivative ☠☠☠.......you can tell just by looking at it 👀👀👀......why I would never own a Ford era Volvo 💯💯 Volvo now removed from Ford with 💰💰💰 from new owners can develop new platforms from the ground up.......the same cannot be said about Jaguar Land Rover who had to further develop products from a mediocre Ford platform 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠

You do know that volvo developed the CMA platform for mainly volvos and was later offered to geely for their cars. Geely didn't do anything with the platform except throwing money on it

The X1 is cheaper and it's MUCH more practical. In fact it blows all of the small SUVs away in that department. Interior room is the same as the X3.

First thing...none of them are SUV's. BMW is mega boring and too low. Volvo is nice but too feminine. So for me it's the Jag or better still I'd take an Alfa Stelvio.

The Jag front end reminds me of an early (2003) Ford Fiesta !! those headlights are naff, great rear end, but the front is way off, doesn't look special for me, the interior is awful, cheap plastic everywhere, when it comes to Class + Value for money, the Volvo crushes the Jag, and the BMW is left way behind.

Not really. Owned previously a fully loaded X1, sold it and got the XC40 first edition. This Volvo is on a different league. My only complain would be the gearbox it is a bit slow to respond in comfort mode.
