In case of death batt or faulty remote key or faulty electrical system, this video shows how to open the tailgate manually.

You saved me a ton of time on this. You also made it look really easy! I couldn't do it with a screwdriver. I had to take a screwdriver and pry the plastic up against the battery to give myself some room. Then I took channel locks and gripped on real tight and turned toward the passenger side.

BMW X3 328i 2014, I saw the video and don’t find this part. I can’t open the tailgate with the remote control and with the external button, only hear a “clic” HELP

Is it the white ring of actuator with a wire on it, that you are suggesting to move towards passengers side?

It is a metal ring. It is a lever with a ring

@@rsingh6438 forgot to mention,I have x3 xdrive 35i, year 2014. trunk looks similar to the video,but couldn't locate the metal ring..there is not enough space to look inside...any thoughts...

@@1Johannys i tried to fix by myself, but no luck. Then I went to service centre and they temporarily removed a cable. Now i can open manually. costed me about 200$. They said it will cost me 1K to fix the new parts.
