Who’s ready for an almighty SUV drag race?! We’ve got the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio going up against the BMW X4M Competition & Porsche Macan Turbo!
So how do these three super sports utility vehicles compare? Well first up we’ve got Mat in the Alfa, which is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, which will put down 510hp & 600Nm of torque.
As for Yianni’s X4M, you’ll find a 3-litre straight-six under the bonnet (the same as in the new M3 & M4), which produces 510hp & 600Nm. And last up we have the Porsche, which may have the same size engine as the Alfa (a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6), however it's down on power, only putting down 440hp & 550Nm.
So, they’re all relatively similar! The question is, can the BMW really justify its £83,000 price tag, especially when you consider the Alfa & Porsche come in at £73k & £69k respectively?

It's actually the Ferrari F154 V8 engine, but it has 2 less cylinders, and I don't doubt anything built by Ferrari in terms of engine technology

2.9 TT isn’t as good as the 3.0TT BMW engine, just like their mid level 3.0T V6 isn’t as good as the I6 T BMW for the mid spec cars. I’ve owned cars with both engines.

In the higher Rev range it’s an absolute peach, in the lower range is a pile of shit I swapped my x3m40i b58 last year for a X4M Comp and the b58 was so much better at cruising and riding the torque wave. Obviously the x4 far superior car but the lack of low down grunt is frustrating it’s always skipping gears.

I really like the relationship between Mat and Yanny. They seem to have such a healthy friendship. I also really like Yanny. I didn't love him when he first came on the channel, but I really like him now. He always seems pretty cheery and happy, he's now a very gracious loser, plays (mostly) fair, and just seems really friendly and a pleasure to be around. Keep up the positivity, I love the content!

BMW are on a roll. The X4m is really a mini X6m, much like the M4 is a mini M8. Great cars. If you were to take an X4m over the equivalent X5 or X6, you wouldn't bed disappointed.

Absolutely Brilliant Drag Race, here in the states I have to look for an X4 to spot them because for some reason they seem a bit unicorn like. Never did I imagine there was an “X4M comp!!!” Absolute Blockbuster Engine. Also the Italian had the sweeter tone!!

For me I’d pick the Stelvio I think it just looks better than most SUVs and for the price it’s super quick. Loved the race aswell and the Stelvio sounded best by far.

@@danieljakobsen1289 cuz yianni fucked it up, the x4M launch control is very good, all new bmws have great launch controls, the old ones had iffy launch controls, but Bmw fixed that issue with their latest M cars

There’s a kickdown switch at the bottom of the pedal travel in the Alfa. You need to floor it and push past the bit of pedal resistance from the switch until you feel it actuate and really bottom. That’ll downshift immediately.

I have a X3M Competition so I’m loving this video! I’d like to see the new M3/4c against an X3/4Mc. Clearly the car would have the weight advantage over the SUV- but not the 4 wheel drive system (yet)…..could make for an interesting race…..

They are shit and characterless. Too heavy too. BMW stopped making interesting cars around 2011 when they started putting turbos in everything. The engines of the M cars since 2012 have been so horrible. They sound awful.

@@MD-uu5nt it just shows that you have absolutely have no clue about cars. ALL manufacturers are using turbos. ALL of them! M5 Competition achieves 60mph under 3 seconds. It's the same time as first edition Veyron (Hyper Car)!
