Beware and own an X5. They eat tyres. They wear the extreme inner edges of the rears leaving the rest of the tyre with 4 to 5 mm. Similar problem with the front tyres and the extreme outer edges wear. A BMW main dealer with 26 years experience in the workshops told me they all do this. Guess what BMW UK deny all knowledge of the issue. I spent £700 on two new rear tyres. It can be dangerous too a safety issue. This a fact please tell everyone you know.
