In This videos I show you guys how to Install Ambient light on your BMW X5 e70. This is an upgrade for car that does not have Ambient lights. This is a time consuming install. the Ambient lights where purchase from Amazon. to connect the lights I used an old connection that the car already had. but you can also use the Windows switch to get power for the ambient light

You are the man! Great job with such details. I am doing a vinyl cover of the wood trim and took out those pieces under the center console and could not figure out how to put them back in. You helped me out a great deal. I will be upgrading to the led lights as well. You have convinced me, the look is awesome! Thanks.

Thank you for your great work keep it up bro, when you connected the LED cable to the cigarettes lighter you spoke about changing fuse, are you replacing with big fuse or small? Why how does it help ?

Hey man. the Fuse in the X5 are very sensitive, So any changes in the voltage will pop the fuse. All that I had to do is replace the fuse. that is all.

Those are not dimmable sorry. . They brigightness are fixed.

Hey I was looking for the video if the front dashboard install. Did you make a video? Can you tell me where you connected the wires for the dashboard ambient lights?

For this one I used the add a fuse connector and found a connections that come on only when the car is on accessory mode. There is a fuse box on the passenger side so I just found a fuse that is not that important. And used the add a fuse for it.

Great videos, truly. One question - on the cigarette lighter - why did you bare the wires? Couldn't you just solder the wire ends on to the back of the two lighter contacts?

Yes I could have, very true. I just didn’t want to solder so close to the Leeds, just in case I need to remove the cigarette lighter and disconnect it. I would still be able to and not have to disconnect the ambient lights at all.

@@CarStomIt if you were trying to remove the cigarette lighter in the back (which I'm not sure why that would ever happen), isn't the factory harness connected there already and it would be the same issue for that? I guess I don't get the downside of connecting the wires to the same location as the factor harness connects.

@@fmorelli you are right when I was doing the install. This was my way of rationalize it. I guess you can also connect it that way as well.

These look awesome in your car after install; however only half of the Amazon reviews for these things are five stars, the rest complain about either not getting half the brightness out of them that everyone else gets, or about them slowly shutting down or only working in small bits after a few months. Have yours worked perfectly over the last ten months?

It does look good. I install them on one of my friends car. I will check with my friends to see how they have been holding up for the past few months.. I will updated this threads when he answer me.

Spoke to my friend and he said they still are working and look really. Good. They only thing is that is his car is park in the sun. So there is a little bit of discoloration.

@@vigankrasniqi1690 Yes I ordered 9 fee for each door and I order a total of 8 but i only used 7. the extra one was a spare. yeah I love the way it looks at night.

Does it hold in place? I mean, does it not loosen over rattling in the car and just come out of those grooves? Great work btw
