Subscribe and help our unique car show grow!! 😈 Hey guys welcome back to RBR! And it’s time for some more M Power!! With the Original Performance Sports Activity Vehicle, the X6M! The market for Coupé performance SUVs is now one of the most hotly contested in the industry, with smaller Performance SUVs like the Stelvio and GLC63 battling over the top spot on the ring, then the huge RSQ8 becoming the fastest in the world, along side the emergence of the Urus Super SUV from Lamborghini, the new DBX and the upcoming SUV Ferrari. Oh and the bulbous looking Tesla model X (I blow it up for your enjoyment).
But where other factors may come in with the battle between the standard SUVs like X5 and GLE, in the Coupé SUV arena it’s all about design! Because the Coupé customer is looking for the most sporty and muscular Looking suv they can get their hands on!
Enter the original, the BMW X6! First in concept form, Reception to the car on its original release was cold by many, asking why you’d ever want an SUV that’s less practical! Yet slowly but surely every manufacturer has followed suit, with the GLE, Q8 and even Cayenne Coupé. I too fell prey and have had a host of suv coupes in the recent past
There have been a number of X5/6 M cars in the last two gens, but as I said things had hotted up since this car arrived with smaller cheaper cars: now enter Gen 3! Simply put, it’s a beast: 625 BHP, 750nm and a hugely improved 3.8 0-60. This is now treading the heels of the so called Super SUV Urus.
Of course power is only one side of the equation: the car also has M Xdrive variable all wheel drive, and much more. But is it enough to help this car stand out vs the small fast SUVs, and even tackle the super SUV genre? Today we explore:

As an X5 owner since 2009 (Lumma modded), I've seen a LOT of BMW videos and even attended a few BMW Meets. This is one of the best videos I've seen. Heavy focus on the CAR instead of some dude talking in a video.

Great video Raz, at first sight, from the rear I must admit I didn't think I was going to be a fan but seeing it in the flesh a few days ago, the M specific features and agressive stance really stand out, especially from the front, and as you mentioned the M8 design in the rear, namely in the lights is actually very well done. Keep up the good work, always a pleasure watching your videos.

Not only is that a superb car but i would say that is quite the best video i have seen by way of reviewing it........by far. The graphics and image changes at the beginning were high impact and really added to the equation, making it highly watchable and a seamless viewing experience. Well done and thanks, RBR.

Separating the main chassis/body panels from the drivetrain was so well done. Such a cool way of showing updated/new components (much better than the press room full of parts on show).

Love the car, the only drawback i can probably point out is that BMW really needs to step up their M-steering wheel designs.. AMG is killing the steering wheel design game.. and BMW needs to catch up..

Your review of the X6 comp is amazing. Graphics, comparisons, and even you tasting the engine! Classic! It’s an awesome machine and I feel BMW knew exactly what they were doing when making this in conjunction to the X5. If you don’t want the practicality of the X5, get the X6. If you complain about the lack of practicality in the X6, get the X5! Some people make it too hard!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates when the gear selector is on the steering column. It ends up just looking cheap because it’s just plastic. BMW does a really good job at making the gear selector just as nice as the leather interior

0-60 is actually 3.6 in the X6M Competition, In fact the car has already achieved 60mph in 3.4 seconds

Gerald Holley 3.8 seconds mate. Rsq8 cannot be quicker than rs6 which does 60mph in 3.6 claimed, but manages it in 3.5 seconds

FINALLY SOME AGREES WITH ME THAT THE X6M is the best SUV coupe in it class. Forget GLE AMG 63 forget cayenne that you only see woman driving for get the urus and forget the Audi which is a VW in a different skin. Thank for you for your honest review ! I agree with everything you said.

The front on the X6M is just beautiful. Front side is stunning. Rear, is the only downside unfortunately. But in that mineral white with black and carbon accents. Wow!!!! Incredible. Love it.

I really do like the new generation of the X6. However, you can save yourself twenty-plus-odd-grand and get the X6M50i instead. But why I hear you ask? The X6M50i has rear wheel steering. Something that the X6M cannot have due to it's huge rear wheels. But most importantly, with the X6M50i, you can opt it with the lit front grill. And who wouldn't want a front grill that lights up at night? But getting back to the X6M. It's gorgeous. Both inside and out and it simply trumps the Urus on looks.

@@john2357 - Good to see someone else also realises it's not all about outright speed in lovely, fast cars. OK. We know the M50i cannot do 0-60 in under 4 seconds, but a sub 4.5 second romp to 60 and more comfort in an SUV that you'd get while sitting on your comfy living room sofa, is plenty fast enough for 99% of the population. Plus it's nice to get from A to B with your fillings still in place. :-))...

I HATED the X6 at first glance. I can't tell you hoe much it has grown on me. Its unique, but not too unique. The M-Exhaust is the icing on top. Staggered tires on this thing would make this thing look so mean. 22's in the back and 21's in the front. The road presence on the X5M and X6M is incredible. Seeing one in videos is one thing, but to see a genuine M-Series in person is otherworldly.

Jesus, Audi RSQ8 is a great car but in terms of looks BMW X6M just looks meaner and more agressive, putting them next to each other makes X6M feel like he is the father.

Thanks for the BMW (esp M) love for once bro! hehe. Yes, love the rear lights...even of the case X6. Much more attractive than it's competitors as you mentioned. I remember when the X6 first came out - much earlier in Europe than here in the US (was in grad school in Europe at the time) - i made fun of the lack of rear visibility, which I'm assuming is still an issue, but it's growing on me overall. Very cool that you think it's superior to the Urus, which I think is quite sexy, but yeah, I would take this over the Lambo.
