One thing I've learned from heavy experimentation with Board Breakers is that you REALLY want to focus on ones that can be useful going first AND second. Most of these are Quick Plays so you have to run them at 2-3 and clog up your deck to see them reliably if you're after their specific effects(if you just want to see A board breaker to soften up a board, then tossing in some HOPT 1 ofs is fine), but Talents being able to hand rip and PUNISH overuse of hand traps compared to starters/extenders makes it worth maining even when siding first, and if you have a high Impact Normal Trap to set, then Thrusts can also be really powerful going first to establish more of a threat with your board(i.e. setting D.Barrier to punish Synchro spammers using excessive amounts of tuner hand traps as their disruptions to soften up a board). I used to hate book of Eclipse because it gets hit by Ash Blossom and draws cards in end phase, but it has value in dodging targeted negations just like book of moon, and sometimes you want to force out that Ash with it to trigger Talent/Thrust and keep it away from your high priority searchers. And there are plenty of decks these days that have to respect Eclipse just as much as a Raigeki(if not more since it doesn't trigger floats) so having additonal utility on top is pretty valuable.

Awesome vid man, love these types of videos and your where to hand trap ones. Nice meeting you at YCS Raleigh! And thank you for that sweet field center.

Econ depends on your deck... it works with some and sucks in others
@nzardoin
@nzardoin 3 ай бұрын
econ is very good in VV specifically because of the interaction with diviner. Going second it’s a good way to get your plays started and take an OP monster for your troubles. But other than that, I would agree that econ isn’t as good in other decks this format

Same goes for Floo, one of the best going second cards for it imo

Hiii! Very nice video, helped me decide on my handtrap line up! Just a question: Pank and fenrir are on the same category or one is better than the other rn?

Can you explain your opinion on Super Poly a little more? I go between maining it or not running it at all and every time I don't run it, I miss it. It's been great in my games.

5:50, I still like rock specifically in a format where the best deck in the room also has a hand-loop for 2.

Super poly definitely better than you say it is. It solos tenpai, can be used against VV, fire, branded any rogue. Other than that tho list seemed solid

If I would choose between main decking belle or crow, I would main deck belle But if I would choose between siding Crow or belle, I would side crow What's your opinion on that?

100% agree with this list. Ogre is in such a weird spot, tbh. It’s “good” vs a lot of matchups, and “great” vs a select few. It’s just hard to justify it vs the better cards.

i think ash is not S tier right now,cause it doesn't do enough against most decks and it may be counter-productive against fire. It's always a good card obviously, but i'd probably consider other cards before her

I think Bystials is extremely meta dependent. As soon as VV players start disrespecting them and doing greedier plays they become a lot better. Crow has better average return and better coverage, but at the same time decks that already play a million handtraps probably would value power over coverage.

People are sleeping on eclipse. I had someone disagree with me on the tenpai group because nobody is playing it in mass. I said I guess a yugituber has to post a video on it for people to play it because in my testing that card is cracked but you have to otk that turn to prevent them getting too much advantage

Yeah it was for me the same thing with Encore against peraly (sorry if it's not spelled correctly I am not near my autocorrect system) when it first reached max power I contended it is just wind ups but you get a towers instead of a hand loop no one believed me then I started winning and then the content creators and pros go oh you should play it I was like see told you guys I may not have the biggest budget as I am on disability checks but I still have years of experience

@@salbaca1104 right!? I guess it goes to show that experience playing the format opens your eyes to different techs. I used my locals and regionals as my reference which I would agree with most that locals can be irrelevant. But my city is extremely competitive. We have a bunch of top level players, ycs finalist, etc here so its like im playing top tier events every week for credit lol
