To me, there seems to be too much randomness / some powers are a bit too strong. Planning is very difficult this way, and so is withdrawing as a consequence

You guys may like 'Defenders of the Realm'. It's a kind of fantasy Pandemic. Some people hate but some love it, so it must have something going for it.

Yeah we have Defenders of the Realm but we haven't played it in years. I remember some of us being on the fence about it. Maybe it's time we give it another go.

Wow you guys are awesome and glad I found yall. Highly underrated and need more subs! Keep up the good work! Oh and Hacksaw Ridge. Easy choice!

Thanks! Hacksaw Ridge is a really good choice, and one that I pondered (this is Will btw). I found HR to be a more thoughtful film than Saving Private Ryan, and the pacifism story is very engaging. But when it comes to showcasing combat, SPR wins hands down, though HR does come close.

@@BoardCrazy My favorite used to always be Casualties of War. Noy so "wary" but very powerful. I recommend everyone see it.

Casualties of War is another good one. I think I was too young to fully appreciate it when I first saw it, so I might have to go back and re-watch it sometime soon.

Yeah i really like this game. It's quite deep for such a simple game. Wouldn't mind it reskinned a bit (maybe fantasy), or maybe some expansions of some kind.

I just realized: you can't choose the card you play nor where you play them. The only thing on your control is when you play and when you withdraw.

It's wrong, you can choose where to play a face down card

@@stefanopaolini6117 True,but it's rarely a good move, considering it negate the power of the card and is half less powerfull than any other effectless cards.

Thanks! We're still compiling our thoughts before next week's review, but I can say that we both enjoyed the game. It may not adhere to its theme that much, but it's a really solid time killer/filler card game.

Great list! Have you seen The Thin Red Line? Or Hacksaw Ridge? Honestly I could chat about WW2 films for days.

@@BoardCrazy I've never actually seen the Thin red line - it's one of those that's always on the list but I never get round to, but haksaw idge is good. I'm more of a classics fan as everyone kind of knows the more recent ones. Bridge over the River Kwau, the Dirty Dozen, the Guns of Navarone, Patton, Stalag 17 - All Glorious!

The Thin Red Line is a must-see -- it's a beautiful film. And I'm with you on the classics. Modern war films are usually too patriotic, or they choose to focus on the gore and thus gloss over the human element.

I love Letters from Iwo Jima! Other favourite WWII films: Downfall Schindler's List Where Eagles Dare The Big Red One The Dam Busters The Dirty Dozen Defiance
