The ‘Norwegian Epic’ is an interesting example (the second biggest class of ship in the world when she entered service in 2010): As you can see from the image above, there is not even much of a sea view from her promenade deck. It is purely designed for lifeboat access. Epic has a central Atrium, with a very large video screen as its centrepiece, but very few windows. Ironically this screen often shows views of beautiful landscapes around the world. Passengers often sit, relax and watch it. On this ship, ‘virtual reality’ obviously takes precedent over the natural beauty of the seas and any land outside the ship. NCL’s innovative ‘Breakaway’ and ‘Breakaway+’ class ship improve upon ‘Epic’s’ somewhat internally focussed design. Both classes have a large promenade deck, lined with restaurant and bars etc. called ‘The Waterfront’.

Oscar's exuberance is infectious. So fun to remember how it was to see the world through hungry eyes. He obviously basks in the loving attention of his uncles and the memories for him will be lifelong.

Oscar is hilarious. My kids are all but grown up, and I have forgotten that unexplainable energy. Personally, I rather like the more casual video like this. While I think your normal videos are VERY professional and informative, it's nice to just see the fam and having a good time.

I rarely comment but I was “energized” by Oscar’s enthusiasm and had to congratulate you and David for an outstanding Vlogs. I live in CA and have cruised the Mexican Riviera and Ensenada is not the greatest port or representative of some great experiences in other Mexican ports. Thank you for an entertaining Vlog.

Oh my gosh!! Oscar is so cute he is very comfortable on camera. How nasty someone being sick over the side of the ship. No excuse for that. Bless the crew for all they have to deal with. Appreciate you taking us along even while on a family holiday. Parts of Mexico are really sad and dangerous. 100% agree. Packing is the worst! Another GREAT video. The Mexican Riviera is beautiful. We just cruised the 'Rivera Solstice in December and it was awesome. Ensenada? Eh, as an American we know that is not a Port we want to stop at. If your viewers do the longer 7-8 night cruise to the 'Riviera the ports of MAZATLÁN and PUERTO VALLARTA are awesome beautiful ports. Do not miss these!

I'm a West Coast cruiser and I can confirm -- Ensenada mostly sucks. I don't bother getting off the ship. Try a full Mexican Riviera cruise. Puerto Vallarta is amazing (my favorite Mexico port). In Mazatlan, there is an excursion to the old Mexico villages in the mountains that I can't recommend enough. The cruise is only two days longer and skips Ensenada (it's PV, Mazatlan and Cabo). More and more, there are cruises heading up into the Gulf of California, stopping in places like La Paz and Lareto. I plan to do that itinerary at some point.

The Bliss was with us in Colombia and also in the Panama Canal nearly 2 weeks ago with us. We were on HAL Eurodam and entered the Old locks and the Bliss was in the New locks. I am very envious of Oscar's Wonder Woman Mickey Mouse hat. I need one of those in my life 😁

Only reason Ensenada gets so many cruise ships is so that the lines can have a stop at a foreign flagged port on shorter cruises from California. Since this cruise went to Cabo, NCL should change the second stop to San Diego.

I really enjoyed the vlog. We sailed Bliss to Alaska in June 2022 and will be back on Bliss this March 2023 for a 7-night Mexican Riviera trip. I'm sorry yours wasn't longer and you didn't get to see more West Coast Mexican ports. I'm glad you had fun with Family and got to experience a new ship and desitnations.

We did a 7-day Mexican cruise on the Bliss but did not stop in Encenada. Our ports were Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. It was lovely.

We got off at Ensenada only once. Never again! So sorry to see your experience there as it looks even worse than our trip many years ago. We're from the LA area, so have done the Mexican Riviera 7 day cruise on the Norwegian Pearl and on several different Princess ships. We don't even get off the ship at any of the ports anymore. We much prefer being pampered on the ship. Love watching your adventures, thanks for sharing!

Years ago we took a cruise to Ensenada - we left my 6 year old siblings with the ship babysitters, which my mom reluctantly did. As our tour took us to La bufadora she got more and more nervous about being away from them and the ship - those hairpin turns and being further than expected from the ship sure is right. She ended up jumping in a random taxi, drink in hand, ready to get the heck back to the ship and her babies! She doesn’t smoke but ended up taking the cigarette the taxi driver offered because she was obviously stressed. We still joke about her smoking and drinking in the back of a Mexican taxi, yelling “get me back to my kids!!”
