BOAT CAMPING IN THE CITY - Solo Fishing and Mud crabbing overnighter amongst the GC sky scrapers

Join me on a tinny camping trip in the middle of my own city, the Gold Coast. I get back to basics with some bait fishing, soft plastics fishing and crabbing.
I pump yabbies then anchor up in the Nerang River, catching a few Bream while getting a few epic drone shots of Surfers Paradise. I sleep in my swag in the tinny for the night and catch a few Sand Crabs and a Mud Crab. Unfortunately the crabs were either too small or the wrong gender to cook up.
Then I get a good Flathead on a soft plastic which I take home for the family.
Its amazing what you can hunt and gather in the middle of a large city of almost 1 million people. It also shows that you do not need to travel a great distance to have an adventure in your tinny.
Remember - Smash the like button. It makes you a better person :) and lover.

2 questions champion... 1- What lures u use for the flathead? Ive only ever caught one undersize flatty on a zman 3.5 minnow 2- what sunnies do u use when out fishing

Hi Steve, mate I use those z Man soft plastics a lot. I like the paddle tails and the curly tails. Also any hard body lure that gets down to the right depth will catch flathead. At the moment I’m using Tonnic sunglasses. They are pretty good but expensive. The main thing is having a polarized lens so you can see into the water. Hope this helps. 👍🍺
