Good video again Sarah. Your own words are the best advice one can give: "Try before you buy". See if there is someone you know that will let you stay on their boat for a short time. Or take a cheap sail/dive trip with an operator to see if that sparks your interest. I know you will love it, but sailing is a form of pain like no other. A boat has more 'things'. And as you know the more things you have the more things break down - typically these 'things' are expensive to either fix or replace. Do you have any mechanical knowledge? If not you will have to have someone else fix things for you. It's a matter of when, not IF! Personally, it would be better if you had a partner as Kat does. So if you can put on hold the dreams till you meet someone then that would be preferable, and more pleasurable of course. But if you were really keen. You can often find cheap yachts that you can renovate but to life. It may take you a couple of years on being in one place while you do it, but you will learn a LOT about your boat, how it works, and how to fix things from the ground up. Check out a channel like Tula's Endless Summer, where they pick up a yacht for $100. They then spent a lot over a couple of years fixing it up and then sold it. But they had a great time using it once it was finished. There are other channels that show their boat resurrecting life styles, you could check them out to if you've the time and connection. I would certainly recommend you watch a few of these so you know what you are getting into, but it can be a cheap entry to boating life. But don't rush into the first $1 boat you see, do your research first. It will give you a huge audience and following for a number of years guaranteed! And a boat will give you the room for your own compressor eventually, so there's that. If you buy a sailing boat, then certainly you can teach yourself to sail, but it can be far quicker to go sail with someone who can "show you the ropes" quite literally! And that will make it easier. Get the book and read it religiously. Good luck with everything going forward.

Seasickness ... Essential oils work for me. I use MotionEaze, a drop behind each ear. Then I have Peppermint essential oil. If needed I put a drop in my palm, rub the palms together, then cup my hands over my mouth and nose like a mast. It is super strong and controls the seasickness. Must do it early on and not wait till you're green.

You both are full of life and fun. I lived in a van for 2 years maybe. I felt free. That I had to take full bath in the cold winter outside (with warm water) didn't bothered me at all. Wish you both good luck!

If you are willing to spend more to live on a boat, are you also willing to spend that same amount to live in a more custom van rig that would give more room or built out more specific to your needs?
@AzulUnlimited
@AzulUnlimited 2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, the upfront cost of a decent van build is quite high since the demand is still up. I could build something myself but I’m not interested in that at the moment. It could be a future project though
