Hi Chris, Thank you so much for making these videos. I fist cam across them last year when I was winterizing on my own for the first time. Putting the plugs back in was a challenge for me this year, having only removed them once I didn’t exactly remember where they all went. I watched this video a few times over and got it! Replace blue plugs with metal ones. They get brittle. I had one blow out during our first trip on the water. Bilge came on. End of a day of fun. The bad part is the plastic threads stayed in and had to be drilled out. Not cheap to fix and had to wait a week to get my boat back. Get rid of the plastic or replace often.

Where do you get that extender so you can put the plastic plugs into the block...since the treads are not the same?

Hello Chris, I have a 4.3 mercury cruiser also. However, I only have two blue caps but I also have a blue wheel that is a drain wheel and there is a tube attached to it. No caps on the left side or right side of motor was this an option?

Hey Chris, Not really related to the plugs, but in the part of the video where you are showing the plug on the right (next to the oil filter) there is a gold/orangey thing on the engine, in the frame. Was wondering if you could tell me what that is and where to buy one cause ours is missing. Thanks so much

Hello! Could these plugs not being in have anything do do with the boat leaking by the motor? My boat is leaking my the motor and it’s not the plug!

I wish I had that much room to work on my 5L lol. I had to stand on my head to get the drain plugs out. Do I need to do anything with the power steering hose? I’ve seen people say there is water in one of those lines?

Hi Chris, I have a 5.0 Mercruiser. I can get to 4 of the 5 drain plugs. The one at the very front I just cannot reach. Do you have any suggestions on ways to reach it? Do you think I would be okay to drain 4 of the 5 and then fill with antifreeze?
