You asked for it... and here it is. A tour of SV Excelsior.Our 1989 Privilege 48 Catamaran. This is Part 1 of 2. Welcome aboard as we take you on a personal tour of our floating home.

Beautiful Cat and very nice video. We have a P435 even though there is a lot in common but many big differences. I had looked at a couple same style as what you have but 43' I really liked them but one thing I was hesitent on was the real heml. I love the layout including the workshop. In mine I use the front wet closet as my workshop with my lathe for an occational woodturning. Love the rich wood colors on yours. Thank you. Albert Furtado

Gday Albert Thanks for the message mate, yea we absolutely love our Privie. The rear helm we thought initially was going to be problem but quickly found that once the sails were trimmed and autopilot set we rarely spend any time there only to quickly check everything is in order. They’re such a beautiful and strong boat we couldn’t be happier with her. Glad to hear you love you’d and we’ll be sure to stalk you to check out your boat as well 😂😂😂 thanks again bud Have an amazing day 🤙🤙🤙

Our approach to Raymarine obsolescence was to buy nice New, Old stock plotters and NOS control head for the autopilot. Don’t get the new software, but gives us time to plan for a whole new system when we want it. Though not “new”, it is still head and shoulders better than the elderly E120 that kept us safe for 10 years aboard our Ketch and navigated about 48k nm until we sold our Amel ketch in Pittwater. Cheers!

G'day William, Thanks for the reply mate, that's a brilliant approach to the Raymarine Obsolescence saga and I wish id thought of that sooner. Given the chance in the future I think I will change to a different manufacturer as Raymarine's answer was for me to upgrade again to the Axiom Pro another few thousand dollars to simply utilise the products I already owned, very disappointing. that's life I guess and were still happy and sailing along nicely. thanks again for taking the time to reply. Great video👍. Raymarine have really lost the plot. I been using the Digital Yacht wifi gateway to send NMEA 0183 & 2000 data to iPads, so AIS targets on Navionics, plus you can create a bunch of gauges on your pads or phones as well, wind, auto pilot readouts, engine data etc etc. love Privilege cats hope to see you guys out on the water. Safe travels

Thanks Mal. We ❤️ our floating home As for the chips, we’re fortunate Charlize has self control (not when it comes to lollies mind you, so we hide those) If they were in Brodie’s room they wouldn’t last long 😂

Thanks Brad, yea we got very lucky finding this one mate and we had been looking for close to two years so by the times she came up we were definitely well versed on what to look for and it was love at first sight. Glad you enjoyed the video mate 🤙🤙
