A trip of about 5 hours, including return and time spent in the the lock. The route starts at the Luijendijksluis and passes through Landsmeer and the edges of the Ilperveld before sailing throug hthe Noordhollandsch Kanaal, an old channel through the northern parts of Holland. Via the Willemsluis, a lock from 1824, the IJ is reached. A tour through the IJ is made, passing four locations where one can enter the canals of the old Amsterdam-Center. It provide a nice view of all the important landmarks along the IJ.
