On the water - 12/2022 - We spent the winter of 2022/2023 in the Florida Keys workamping at the Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOA Resort. It's an amazing place to workcamp, and we would happily go back to work again. We made so many great friends while working and playing in the Florida Keys. We feel like this is the best and most affordable way to spend a lengthy amount of time in the Keys.
Jeff spent many mornings playing pickleball on nearby Key West and Big Pine Key. Sugarloaf Key KOA is the perfect spot to be far enough from Key West but a nice enjoyable drive when you want to visit. It also puts you closer to exploring more of the middle keys. If you haven't been to the Keys, YOU HAVE TO GO!
Today our episode takes you along on our boating trip out to the American Shoal Lighthouse. Our oldest daughter came down to visit and we took some campground friends along as well for an almost perfect day of snorkeling and swimming with the fish, eels, and other amazing sea creatures of the Atlantic ocean. The boat used in the video is one of several rental boats the KOA offers from their marina.
