Great arrangement, Bob! I played this when I was playing under Jay Saunders and just came across it a couple days ago in the library where I'm teaching now. I'm going to have my band perform this in the spring. I hope all is well!

Have said it in other places, I'll say it here. Looks like whether he wants it to happen or not, Metheny is going to get the Zappa treatment. The Metropole Orchestra in Holland does his stuff now, the Curnow Big Band arranges it for large jazz group, he is on his way. It's unfortunate that Frank didn't live to see big orchestras and bands do his music in repertory, but at least Metheny and Lyle Mays did. And this is real fine, very brassy, very Stan Kenton. Well done!

I watched this video again because I'm having my band listen to this as a reference recording. I couldn't help laughing at the pic of the castle at 5:20 because I was right behind you when you took it. I snapped one shortly after and the 2 people on the grass on the right are walking back on the path... At first I thought you had used my pic! hah

I apologize for my ignorance, and forgetfulness, been alot of bottles prior to my past, was he an arranger/composeer for Stan Kenton,.....?? Or Maynard...........??
