I began playing the base for the same reasons as Bob. The Power and melody of the instrument in any kind of Music. And then you hear him play in songs like "over the mountain"... Hell Yeah...

I was lucky enough to be Bob's painter for a few years working with Deano from Decorative Deeds(plug). Bob is a fantastic guy to work for and he told a couple of mind blowing stories as you could imagine someone that has lived a life like his. Good times.

Bob's book is a bible for any rock/ metal fan, what a fantastic/inspiring read, haven't put it down, thanks Bob for giving such an amazing read, you are truly an unsung hero, amazing lyricist, musician, arranger and story teller, right down to your exact diary dates for all the milestones of your career for which there are many and i haven't even finished the book yet. This isn't just a book on Ozzy this man has worked with everyone and anyone notable to hard rock heavy metal industry 70's onwards. The boy from Sydney Australia did well alright! A true Aussie legend. So good to hear tales from the man himself, what a great life you have led, thanks for taking the chance on your bass guitar and leaping into the unknown with that first trip to the U.K all those years ago. What Don Arden and Sharon put you through is unforgivable and at every backstabbing obstacle they put in your way you took the high road for the greater good of the music, your only demand being to be treated fairly for your contributions for yourself and others even to your own detriment, what a noble honourable man you truly are, the music you created is and always will be timeless, you gave Ozzy the gift of his solo career with Randy and Lee, everyone should know the truth and now will, this man deserves more, history needs to be rewritten, credit needs to be given where it's due, please do some Sydney gigs, clinics, being a central coast aussie it was amazing to know you had been to my hometown or an hours drive away in Sydney, my book is signed but i'd like to shake the hand of the man that gave us all such legendary music ✌🤘👍🎸🎵🎶 thanks Bob!!!!

I coulda' swore I saw some writing credits, producing....?? for Bob on those two first albums. Anyway, Bob wrote some memorable bass lines too. I don't know, tonight, many more. He and Lee deserve more credit. Somebody pull those old albums out!!

They actually had their playing wiped from those by Ozzy and rerecorded by Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge for remasters, fortunately he grew up and corrected this error, giving Bob and Lee their rightful place. They never got credit for writing Ozzy's debut albums and pulling his ass from the gutter. On a positive note, Lee Kerslake announced he had months to live and all he wanted was the gold records he never received for his work on Blizzard and Diary, and Ozzy obliged him and he got his records and is still living to enjoy them. Not sure if Bob got his though.

Ozzy was nuts to get rid of Daisley and Kerslake as he never came up with music as good again. Randy Rhoads was going to leave Ozzy after the tour he died on to do classical so Ozzy was daft to let the other two go

The 2002 re-recordings don't have that same magic that the originals do....Thank god I never bought the re recordings and I have the Originals on my iPod. I'm an ozzy fan, but what he did to Bob and Lee was the lowest of the low... and the fact that Sharon said that the re-recordings gave the albums a "fresh new sound" no. All they were is a giant middle finger to bob and lee. SMH.

Kinda feel sorry for Ozzy... Understandably, the poor schmuck doesn't have the capacity to run the 'Ozzy Machine' and needs a handler (Sharon) but she definately took advantage of the business. Tony, Geezer, Bill, Bob, Randy, Lee were all the archetects of Ozzy's career and sound. Sharon couldn't create the illusion that Ozzy was solely responsible for Black Sabbath's success, but she damn well orchestrated it for the Blizzard of Ozz Band, simultaneously destroying any and all credit, where credit was due. Ozzy was an important spoke in the wheel, but he was only a team member. After Bob and Lee were given the axe, and Randy's eventual death... Ozzy's handler (Sharon) finally had the creative freedom to manipulate and get all the smoke and mirrors in place to create the Ozzy Illusion. Sad...

@headbanger985 I wouldn't believe everything you read especially if it comes from an Osbourne. Heaven forbid Bob got paid for bring Ozzy's career back to life. Ozzy must have thought he was the best guy in the world when it came to songwriting or he wouldn't have kept calling him back.

@Robo Cat Ozzy was a great performer, but not a songwriter. His music knowledge is quite limited. He was part of Sabbath, and they did create the true metal sound. Just don't forget that Tony Iommi wrote the riffs, and Geezer wrote the lyrics. Ozzy deserve some credit, but he is a bit of a phony metal god. Every other singer Sabbath had was a better singer with better range, and they all were more involved in lyric writing than Ozzy was.
