I promised to upload the entire version of this show, but unfortunately, copyright makes that a complicated task, so I'll be uploading it in pieces. It's been very difficult finding tracks that aren't blocked by copyright. This is a recent occurrence, which leads me to believe that Universal Studios has begun to crack down on unauthorized Dylan recordings. Still, with your support, I'll do my best to keep this channel alive and well.
This was recorded on February 1, 1964, at CBC TV Studios in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, for the show "Quest". This episode is a 30-minute exhibit of Dylan's music (the rest of which I will upload soon) and was also the show's final episode. Subsequently, the producer of "Quest", Daryl Duke, quit CBC and moved to Los Angeles, CA to work on "The Steve Allen Show", where Dylan coincidentally appeared a month after his "Quest" performance (see this appearance here: • Bob Dylan Interview & ... ).
Many thanks to Markie for this upgraded footage, which is a 2005 digital transfer of an original 16mm kinescope. From that, I equalized the audio and corrected some of the lighting.
Peace & Love,
~SP

We are so very lucky to live and listen to his incredible catalog during HIS lifetime. 💓💓💓 It's incredible how many people don't realize the magnitude this man is. Let your children listen to Mr. Dylan 💚 he's got something to say. Something to make your heart open, something to make your soul shake, something to make your eyes weep and something to make you appreciate.

I like the stuff that Bob recorded with Johnny Cash, which was featured on his television show in 1969. If memory serves me right he invited him onto his very first show; two brilliant artists at their peak, putting their stuff out into the universe. I especially like the great duet that they did on Girl from the North Country. I hate it when people said that Dylan lost it in the late sixties, just because he didn’t follow the psychedelic craze and decided to play some country rock instead; John Wesley Harding and Nashville Skyline are great albums and so is New Morning for that matter (it’s an under appreciated master piece with some great songs, such as; Went to See the Gypsy, If Dogs Run Free, If Not for You, Day of the Locusts and of course, the title track. Coming back to the Quest Show, made for Canadian television I think in 1964, I love the relaxed, ambient presentation which was obviously going down pretty well and is clearly being enjoyed by all (I’ve seen the whole thing before, but like you said they seem to be clamping down on uploader’s now).
