I seem to have found a gentle affection and sincerity through your vivid self expressions. The Castle art work you revealed seemed almost neon in it's splendid emphasis of Beauty. Your lyrics were nearly neon in their impressions I of trying to live and sort out what's black & white,and blue and agreein' and blue and read. The shadows and highlights. Masterpiece and master peace. So many keys and wheels.

Obviously the lyrical content here sets him apart from everyone else who considers themselves a songwriter, but what I really love about this demo is Leon Russell’s playing. Fucking gorgeous. Remember folks: far too often, songs go to die in the production phase. Just look at Warren Zevon’s career. It’s a shame no one ever told him to keep it simple.

Why were Self Portrait and New Morning so muffled? No one ever mentions it but I've always found them unlistenable. Why not just a slight treble boost and maybe even some reverb?
