Love this one, I know he is Irish, but whenever the Scots go on (and on and on) about staying or leaving, I always have a discreet giggle, as for so many millions south of the Border, his lyrics (unintentionally) encapsulate our feelings perfectly.....Scotland, we will miss you,.... about as much as we miss the Irish.

The reason the Irish danced like that is so that Protestants looking through the window wouldn't know they were dancing. I think it was the case in Scotland too. Calvinists didn't like dancing.
