I've followed John and watched his content for more than a decade, but his apologetics in defense of oligarcs like Iger has just become too much to tolerate any longer. As someone who has always, and will always stand strongly and proudly with labor and the unions, I will no longer support any of his content until he stops this rhetoric.

Bob Iger is full of it. If the CEOs cut their pay by 25%, it would pay for all of the demands of both SAG and WGA.

You can make all the excuses about how the residuals system works differently, but who decided to make those changes? Did the writers and actors create the streaming model or was that the executives? They made their bed now they can lie in it.

In the old days maybe that was true, but now streamers are increasingly bringing in ad revenue so they do benefit from John streaming Suits (unless he has a premium subscription)

The irony of the situation is, soon there will be algorithm based AI software that will be tasked to manage big studios practically deciding which projects are going to be greenlit or not. Then we wouldn't need greedy studio execs with a salary in the millions. 🤭

It's only unrealistic because these studio executives are unreasonable and unwilling to compensate people for their work, when they've profited handsomely off their contributions.

Despite some of his faults Michael Eisner was a much better Disney CEO than Bob Iger especially when Eisner had Frank Wells to rein him in

geez people why do you have to go dissing on john, he took the actors and writers side on most thing, only 1 thing he has a bit of an issue with. you act like the actors/writers are saints and the studios are pure evil, things are rarely that black and white. Now I don't fully understand this situation myself but you can't assume the writers/actors are 100% in the right. If residuals are an outdate form of payment then clearly some new system needs to be sorted out. John has explained his reasoning but most of you just diss him without backing up your side of the story.
