Glad to hear the Evertonians rate brummie Bob so highly. We really missed him but we did get Kendall out of it. Picked up a quote from Bob recently 'I didn't take penalties because I didn't consider them to be real goals!' Priceless!

Watched my first game in 71,and when Big Bob came along it re established Evertons history of great CF,s.Still one of my all time fav players,after espiacially an awayday at QPR were Bob bagged a shedful in a demolition show.Him a Davy Thomas were like morecombe and wise inseparable,todays value north of 100 million.

This was emotional for me. I watched Bob as a young man at Birmingham and could see early on he was going to be great. Some of the goals he scored here were out of this world. It's sad that success eluded him at Everton, but he did play for England a few times. And, of course, he kept his blue shirt. My nan and granddad used to lived in Sunderton Road right opposite Brandwood School, where all the Latchford's went. It was demolished about 25 years ago or so. Looking at the clips and seeing all the great British players Everton had then, and all the other teams. Where have they gone?

It's just a pity we never had about 3 or 4 more class players and we would have won a few trophies. With Thomas, McKenzie, Dobson and one or two others we had a few good moments in the 70s but mainly it was a bad era for us blues. Bob was a legend

As an Evertonian in my mid fifties he was MY first Everton number 9. Hes still my favourite and still the best Ive seen. So glad to have seen him recently and how well he looks .

my everton hero, was just learning what it meant to be born a blue and duncan mckenzie and big bob latchford were around! remember vividly listening to the game on the radio with my dad in the car park of Mighty U (mum was in there shopping for wall paper with my 2 sisters) and Bob scored 2 goals against chelsea to make his 30 goals for the season 1978 and win £10000, me and Dad were jumping round the car park like lunatics - rest of the locals (in worcester) must of thought we were mental - I was 7 years old and it cemented my Everton Genetics EVERTON TIL I DIE

Birmingham fan. I am reading his book which is very well written. His comparison of Trevor Francis to Wayne Rooney is most illuminating indeed. As most of it is Everton, as you would expect, it was very brave to put it in.

Dean, Lawton, Linekar and Latchford. The Latch can hold his own in that sort of company and he is an Everton great and an Everton legend. No if's no buts

Great video,brings back loads of memories, what a brilliant player Bob was, I was at most of these games, the best was the four he scored at Loftus Rd and that late late equaliser in that Cup Semi against West Ham at Elland Rd,should have won that game.

Bob was born in Birmingham and went to Brandwood school. He didn't think a penalty was a proper goal and was in the same team as a kid as Trevor Francis and Kenny Burns. Get the picture?

The header against the team in red ( Swansea ? ) I was behind the goal and he gave the eyes and left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot. The goal against Villa when he jumed on the railings, I was directly behind the goal. I have never been so excited in my life absolutely including sex, . It was elation beyond the bayern munich goals for some reason !! Duncan possibly could have eclipsed Bob but injuries and attitude prevented that.

@azcargo cheers for the comment mate like your vids aswell you have uploaded some great footage, Alan Harpers goal against Chelsea is a classic and love the 84/85 vids and the 60's stuff too all good stuff, do you have any footage of the 84/85 Goodison mersey derby i have never seen anything of that match.

That goal @ 2min 41 sec was an amazing dummy and more akin to the better goals he scored. I'm not knocking this great video but he did score a lot of other superb goals and headed a ball so accurately and with such confidence that he appeared to be nonchalant in his execution of the finishing touch. Many of those goals weren't recorded with TV cameras in his day.

Looking at this tonight how much our club has been ambushed by outsiders I live for the past the future is not the Everton I breathe every day
