The thing I love is that Bob Marley lived the true rags to riches story and never forgot who he was. It's inspiring that someone can come from not only living in poverty, but also growing up facing discrimination for being mixed race, to become a world wide artist. Doing it all with a message of love and equality when life didn't treat him with either growing up.

Brother, speaking as a bi-racial guy from NZ.. Bob was bi-racial & while he saw himself as primarily a black man his message was for everybody. The thing is his message wasn't the same for everybody.. for white people his message was unity, equality + peace. For black people it was about freedom, justice + finding yourself. Same messenger, slightly different message. You're fine - you understand his message to you. You don't need to ask anyone's permission to understand. Bob spanned culture, race + identity. Same messenger, different message.

I burst into tears over this trailer thinking that we are STILL in it. Everything he spoke out against is still happening to us when it comes to war and hate. And yet we'll see people who buy into today's wars champion this movie and that thought made me sad beyond belief. It's a beautiful trailer. Thank you. May it raise consciousness that is lost.

I relate very well to your comment, I thought this could easily be now too! Wars,l hate, more racial tension etc; so much to type out an endless list, it’s that long. Bob really was a great man, a prophet taken before his time. His music has stood the test of time and is as much loved today as it was then. I grew up listening to his music, my kids have, my grankids have and now I have a 2 year great granddaughter who loves Bob’s music, smiles as she dances to it. It’s so lovely to see, I feel very blessed. But I fear for the future. Much love, peace and blessings to you x

alexa 35, the cinematography and the grading. wow. best looking film so far in 2024. that 16-17 stops of DR really shows. of course you gotta watch it in a cinema or get the 4K HDR file. the tones and colors, the highlights. wow.

Songwriting ✅️ (superb) Endless catalogue ✅️ Best in the genre by far ✅️ Vocal hability and voice ✅️ Lyrics & message ✅️ Popularity ✅️ Most tolerated music overall ✅️ (it's like the meeting point of every genre in music. Very hard to find someone that won't tolerate his music) It's the best you can ask in one person as a musician. If we include bands, then it's a different story.

Legend album currently at 81 on BB200 from 102 as of Jan 27. Looking forward to it and other releases to be higher on the charts when the movie comes out. Also, always playing on various radio formats including Alternative Rock. This should be one of the top biopics of all time.

Redemption song and many other of his songs changed my life in different stages of it. Redemption song was written near the end of his life as he convaleced and reflected on his impending death. He understood that his physical death was just that, but such a lover of live, love and freedom still has a hard time letting go. We all do. I have 6 autoimmune disorders and multiple comorbidities. How I am still here and functional is beyond my understanding, but a definite thrill. I have two kids to look after (12 & 17) and would like to remain as long as possible, but, I am also not trying to fight destiny. I’ve been blessed to even be here this long to begin with. Redemption song is one of those songs that gets me through some of those very hard times.💚💛❤🌎 one love…

Saw the movie at 3:10 p.m. yesterday in Maryland. I was the only one in the theatre because it was a weekday and it was a treat! It surpassed my expectation because of comments that I heard that the accents were not authentic. I thought they did a great job, Ben-Adir was a little stiff in the dancing, but other than that it was fantastic. I loved the couple's flaws were also part of the story. Plan on taking my mother this weekend.
