I have heard many mixes and mashups of waiting in vain, which is one of my favourite Bob Marley tracks. Some are with other reggae artists, some are with Marvin Gaye or Micheal Jackson, or even Tupac. But this has to be the best so far. This is professionally done to a very high standard. Both tracks are perfectly insync, and all levels are expertly equilised. Well done, this is excellent work.

Fact: you got you facts wrong. At least in NYC, Black Americans were waiting to see both of them. Those black Americans said Bob Marley stole the show. Lionel was still with the Commodores. You must be watching too much Fox News.

Bob didn’t have to. Bob wanted to for the specific objective of getting Black Americans to embrace his music and message. Remember that Chris Blackwell marketed The Wailers like he would a rock act and primarily geared towards white audiences. But Bob, the revolutionary, knew that his lyrical content would (or should have) appeal to Black Americans. This is why when many in Marley’s orbit scoffed at the notion of him opening for The Commodores, Bob insisted. “Play I on the R&B; I want all my people to see.”-Roots, Rock, Reggae.
