Treason is when you aid a foreign enemy, who we declared war upon. This is just good ol fashioned bribery. Should still be life in prison and have every penny seized.

Because it has to be proven first. If they get found guilty, I guarantee you that Treason will be part of the sentencing phase. This is VERY early in the courts.
