My Dad did national service,he was de mobbed in 1955....said the Bren was a superb weapon,very accurate as was the Lee Enfield 303!

They're meant to be. This was a comedy about the Post-WW2 National Servicemen (peacetime draftees)who were called up when the fear of the Cold War going hot sent many civilians(some of whom were classified 4Fs during the war)into uniform and practicing with left over WW2 weapons. Sadly, some of these men(the younger ones)were sent into combat in Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia.

The sergeant was in a night to remember as a seaman Cyril chamberlain Also in carry on constable nurse cruising

I'd love to have a go at firing a Bren and a lot of other old WW2 weapons. Closest I've got is an airsoft M1A1 Thompson. Not quite the same but its bags of fun!
