Copper Blue is, by far, the best album of the 90's. This album bring that sonic assault of Sugar back in full force. Bob Mould is a god.

Reminds me of my uncle David. He lived in the woods for awhile and knew a lot about nature. He also told my aunt to call in sick on 9/11 who worked at one of the buildings attacked. He said he would see people about to fall into a river before they die. He said cars were killing machines and died by getting ran over.

Great art...especially music, can do that. I, too, am too old and disabled to confront head-to-head, but I try to make my voice heard. Tyranny must be confronted; hopefully wthout violence but confronted none-the-less. As Bela Bartok wrote(I'm paraphrasing), "If I had stayed(in Budapest, during WW2) it would have implied that I condoned Nazism." He could have stayed comfortably in Europe, but he sought asylum in the US. He was sponsored by 2 of his piano students from his time as a professor at the music academy in Budapest; Fritz Reiner and Georg Solti. He took commisions and wrote his CONCERTO FOR ORCHESTRA and his 3rd PIANO CONCERTO. The latter was composed in Ashville NC, convalescing from treatments for leukemia , in order to provide his Wife Ditta, herself a concert pianist, a work by which she could earn a living after his death. He chose to live as a stranger in relative poverty rather than live a life of ease in occupied Europe. His 3rd Pno Cto is a magnificent piece; the 2nd movement contained his last example of "night music"; using orchestra and piano color to evoke the sound of nature at night. He fought with "weapons of the spirit."

Ugh man!! Thanks for keeping the rock alive!!!! This is why I'm proud to be from MN. I hadn't discovered Sugar until 2004-05 and was blown away. Now with Silver Age...man. I'm scared of this ever ending! I'm 35 and I feel like I have a duty to pick up the guitar again every time I listen to this album. It's kind of emotional, maybe I'm just sentimental, but I feel like there's a lot I haven't done musicaly. Too bad I live in the middle of nowhere in Michigan now.

it's so weird it seems like yesterday I was reading a thrasher magazine then going skating and listening to Husker Du where has time gone I still love finding my old box of tapes sometimes just to look through them and just putting one in and hitting play starting from where I left off from probably 20 year's or more ago lol and how some of them are hard to hear from all the wear on the tape especially my old circle jerks tape now I can ask a kid that is probably the age I was when I first started listening to punk rock if they like husker du or agent orange and the smile and giggle and say who is that a real name of a band lol

Saw Bob and the Huskers in PHX AZ in '83. 35+ yrs ago. He said "Hi, we're Husker Du", then they TORE through a 40 min set, non stop. The kids nearly rioted for "More Du!, more Du!" They played another 4 or 5 songs back to back, then we were all spent.

I started out so starry-eyed Full of hope and wonder And I wore flowers in my hair Not aware I'd been defiled I know it's going down (How can I believe you?) Karma comes around I know this ride, you must be there by my side You going down, I must be descending I didn't want to play the song That gave people so much hope I turned my back and turned away Here's the rope that made me choke I know it's going down (How can I believe you?) Karma comes around You can see it in my eyes You can read it on my face You can hear it as I cry God, I hope it's not too late Can I try to make it up to you somehow? Can I try to make it up to you somehow? Now my race is finally run And as I tumble to the Sun All these dreams I can't achieve Brought me crashing to my knees My descent has no begun All the music left undone My world, it is descending.
