It certainly counts. Many people consider him the king or guru of ASMR. I wish there was a better name for this phenomenon-- I mean, ASMR sounds like a government code or a new disease. It's cold and boring and scientific. Anyway, I always liked Bob's painting videos, since the 1980's on PBS stations. So soothing and relaxing. I'd doze off sometimes, LOL. Only a few people have this power over me; another was a gentle, friendly guy named Mr. Rogers. :-)

@@eduardo_corrochio Agreed. I was already artistically inclined, so when I discovered Bob's videos I was like yeah I could definitely do this. Simple techniques, natural settings for subjects offer plenty of opportunity for freestyling it, and the secret behind the "no mistakes, just happy accidents" or whatever line is that oil and acrylic paint afford you the opportunity to touch up or paint over anything you didn't like. Haven't painted in a long time... but watching these videos is giving me the itch to do so.

yes mostly he quit because he learned he earned more painting than in the military and when he switched he decided he would never scream again so it's why he always is the soft voice. it's a conscious choice he felt there was enough anger in the world already

Yes. That's the one thing I don't like. The videos are too short. Of course you could watch 3 or 4 back to back if you want. One of my favorite things was a 3 hr instructional video he made. My copy is on VHS tape. It's a bit worn out but still works. I'm guessing it's on dvd too. Hard to find it online. Actually my copy was borrowed from a co-worker almost 20 years ago. I never gave it back and I don't remember his name or know how to get ahold of him. I owe him big time
