Just wanted to add some positivity to the comments here. I think the painting was decent considering the rushed atmosphere and obvious nervous energy. She obviously has talent and given ample time I think she'd make amazing paintings. Very well done for being rushed.

Agreed. I get it people don't like the guests, but they didn't have to hate on them. The painting is decent like you said, but it is not bad at all and people really shouldn't be hating on it.

I agree, Kyle. From my experience, accurate well done portraits usually take days to weeks to accomplish particularly well. The fact that she only had a half hour speaks well of her talent given that it looks so well that it does.

But her name, Sirois, is from French origin. Nowadays, it is rare in France but very common in Quebec (Canada). Maybe her ancestor was a French explorer of the 18th century who married an Indian woman. This was not uncommon.

@@b3127R actually native american is less accurate and even more insulting as America is what destroyed their way of life. Pretty sure none identify with America as they are all part of sovereign nations. To all the hate, this is a product of it's time. Yeah, this lady definitely lacks the pure enjoyment that Bob brought to the painting, but this shows purpose (especially in the earlier seasons) wasn't asmr, but to teach people how to paint. I love her comment about the "comma on the light-source side, period on the opposite side" method. I use the same to make cabochons and other jewels, and now I shall try it with my portraits. 🙂

watching this stresses me out about drawing, watching Bob is very reassuring and comforting. Most people are too structured and freak you out with the detail you need to follow, but Bob's style was so free and easy to interpret into your own way.

I have been watching the stupid comments build over 2 years of this episode being on youtube, it never ceases to amaze me how ignorant people are when they comment on the title, the woman, the using of Indian, a white lady saying such a thing, I have never seen anyone criticize Bob for painting a tree because he isn't a Tree himself. 1984-86 is the time frame most of this happened, go back in time and complain to Bob.

I think she grossly underestimated how much time she would have to do this painting. It has a nice basis, other than a matching background, which kinda blends everything into a weird orange mess. The anatomy and shape was pretty nice, as were the accessories. Details are far more time consuming than Bob's grand ol' trees, which she didn't take into account. Overall, could've been much better, 6/10.
