If you are listening to this soulful music then we are truly Kindred Spirits. The America that once was and will never be again. God bless each and everyone of you that are listening to this in these uncertain times. This song brings a tear to my eye and memory from a long time since past while at the same time makes me smile.

This song takes me back to a summer, almost 50 years ago. I knew then this song was going to be a huge hit. Seger is one of the most underrated artists in rock. But what a dynamite combo he was with that voice and his song-writing genius. I've always appreciated you Bob and will continue to, to my ending days.

I was 16 years old and we were parked just down the road from home in about 10 inches of snow, under a super clear night. Stars were so bright and a full moon gleaming down on that snow. Parked in an old red Ford pickup, listening to the only two cassettes we had. Jackson Browne and of course Bob Segers greatest hits. Oh what a night we had on that old uncomfortable bench seat.

@thechamp7111 I could list all the bands/concerts I saw in the 70's . Lynyrd Skynyrd with the original members heads the list for me. I saw them at the Fox Theatre in ATL all 3 nights when they recorded thier live album One more from the road. Tickets were $7.50 each. Still have my stubs. The Outlaws opened for them all 3 nights. The Fox was rocking wildly those 3 nights.

That whole interlude gets me every time. The song changes right there. From being young and living in the moment to being old and looking back. From "working on our night moves" - trying to get chicks - to "strange how the night moves" - how time slips away from us and all of a sudden, we're old and then "autumn's closing in". Then he starts strumming that guitar again and I just lose it. A brilliant piece of storytelling!

I was always so sad when I had to go back to my home in NJ cuz of all the friends I made, and how much I’d miss them . 40 years later , I hope they are all fine… this song was on my last night there … sweet memories …

He's lowered the song key a full step from G to F, (as he has with most of his songs) and has to sit and play... But who cares! He's a damn Rock n Roll legend, STILL Rockin'! He was the first concert I ever saw, 1978. He has MORE heart and soul in his pinky than these goobers of today have in their whole bodies. KEEP ON A ROCKIN' BOBBY!

Doug Coldiron He doesn’t have to sit to play. He did nearly the entire 3 hour show on his feet and very physical. I think the final set needs a mood shift that sitting helps. I don’t think it has much to do with stamina, but with the creation of a particular intimate feeling.

When i hear Bob Seger it just makes me think of the great state of Michigan! It could be his hats, roadside pics of Detroit, or it might be being 12, sitting in a classroom listening to his rock and roll, Ramblin Gamblin Man, or, hanging out in the summertime in the Great State of Michigan. No matter where he goes, he's still in Michigan. Thank you Bob for representing the Great State that you were always singing about. This is one of those songs that shows why the boomer generation took our music to it's pinnacle, not likely to ever be bested or rarely even matched by following generations. In league with Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Goethe 150 years before them.

Your music brings back countless memories, growing up in Detroit, Notre Dame, dances, thank you…… Bellowing out your tunes from your low gruffly voice, which we Home Towners of the Detroit area, loved and still do…… 💪

How many "Night Moves," did we have back in the day of our youth? The nights turned into Sunrises, enjoying, hanging out with friends, smoking some Mary Jane, laughing till teas rolled down our faces, going to White Castle and Top Hat, Drunken Burgers, Elias Brothers Big Boy's, rides to Belle Isle, in time for the Sunrise, meeting at the Fountain, after staying up all night partying, carrying on with early morning party time before going home to crash for the day, then up and out the door, into the night, so much fun and good times then. Now as an elder, we watch the youngsters have fun like we use too. Keep Shining!🌞👍🏼
