As a piano player I can totally relate, going over one line or even one bar again and again until it's perfect, but then when you have to perform it you get so in your head about getting it right you fumble. Really felt for him.

I feel quite passionate about this so sorry for the long post. Bobby came into this competition with zero dance experience, and he’s coming out week after week performing these brilliant dances. I don’t think they’re getting enough credit. This dance was full of brilliant salsa, great solo work, lots of brilliant lifts, just because the end lift was slightly not perfect should not mean all the rest of the dance is not applauded, because it was brilliant. They are an amazing partnership and deserve to be in that final.

This was overmarked for me yes take away he nearly dropped Dianne it had a lot of mistakes in it. Good effort though given his lack of experience but that does not mean should forgive mistakes.

Really enjoyed this performance! Granted the lift could of been cleaner but Bobby did amazing with the very difficult choreography! Can’t wait to see these two in the semi finals next week. Let’s get them to the finals!

I love how they conveyed the characters and story, it made it so much fun to watch. Didn't matter that the lift wasn't "perfectly" done. I don't enjoy watching flawless professionals so much but i enjoy seeing a real person with a beautiful spirit give it their best and this was a super hard routine so well done 👏👏👏👏

Whilst they weren’t as good as they were last week, this is a great dance 🙂 they both danced rlly well together, and even if the lift didn’t go as planned, I love the fact that they are at this stage and hopefully, they do better than they did in the semis. Craig - 8 Motsi - 8 Shirley - 9 Anton - 9 Me - 8 or 9 (struggling to decide) Total - 42 or 43

Of all dancers on Strictly, I can't help reflecting upon the Iconic and legendary Tommy Tune and my instant comparison with the similarity "decades apart" between Tommy Tune and Bobby, I can't help think that Bobby has great hidden potential he needs to unleash! These are obviously different times and different generations, but I can't help but think there is lots to unlock in Bobby's potential.

Score - *9/10* Bobby is improving so much, his hands are so much better and he's relaxed and loosened. Especially in the side by side it had brilliant flow. The first lift was brilliant but yes THE LIFT was abit messy, which is a shame because it was probably technically Bobby's strongest. I will be interested to see what he does next week I admit and after Layton's showstopper it was never going to look quite as good but I really enjoyed this and loved all the Dirty Dancing references and foreplay between them on the floor it was just brilliant

Ah... My mother was complaining profusely about them doung the lift a lot before the dance, to the point I couldn't hear the VT. Seeing them do the lift... I understand now. Ouch. 😬

This is Bobby 2nd best latin dance of the series for me. It was fluid, fun, fabulous. I would say it was one of the better Dirty Dancing routines far as a male. But we know nothing is gonna top Ashley & Pasha version. I know the iconic lift wasn't fully nailed. But despite that, I loved it. Score: 9

Such a shame about the lift. Still worthy of a vote next week though. The cool kid getting cooler by learning to dance. Dianne is the best teacher, and a great choreographer for him, as a complete dance novice. Only 2 weeks until you're flying home to be with your Dad, Dianne. Stay strong.

10,10,10,10. And it’s a 10 from me. They deserved tens across the board. Firstly how long did he have to practice the routine the lift is extremely difficult the rest of the dance was perfect . He was in character Bobby Swayze. Taking into consideration his age and no dancing experience I think he should win . His Mum Jade would be proud and I could see how proud his dad was !!!!!

@steptasticable he isn't a professional dancer like layton so of course he's going to make mistakes but for a young man who has never dance before I think he is doing well and has improved so much and I wish the judges would see this instead of giving high marks to the celebrities with loads of dance experience instead of having ago at his dances all the time Graig goes on about his hands well what does he want bobby to do cut them off ? Bobby was born with big hands he can't help it it's obvious graig doesn't like him his facial expressions say it all when they are talking about his dance in the results show you have the judges being nice about him then you have graig sat thier with a miserable face until they go on to the next dancer and he's all happy again

our scores: me: 8 diya: 9 kelsey: 8 owen: 9 34/40 (lowest of the week) he was so disappointed, which he shouldn’t be because it wasn’t bad at all. obviously the lift wasn’t as smooth as it could’ve been but its extremely difficult to do this dance as the expectations are sky high.

Of all the songs for a Salsa the producers chose this one with its tricky lift. Nerve wracking to watch and of course it went wrong ! Louis Smith and Flavia nailed it perfectly but then Louis was a super fit gymnast and stronger.

My fave dance of the night. I would love for these two to win however I don't think they are a favourite of the judges so if they end up in the dance off I don't think they'd make it.

I actually like that he didn’t nail the lift at the end. It’s a hard lift and he isn’t some towering figure, he’s a modest fit lad. Shame that it messed them up for the week tho.

And last but certainly not least is Bobby and Dianne dancing the Salsa. I felt out of all the dances this dance remained true to the original movie and love this, I liked that some of the dance moves from the movie were took and put into the dance I thought that was a good move. The reason Bobby couldn't do the iconic lift properly is because his core is very weak and needs to work on that if he had a stronger core the lift would have been stronger. As much as this pair is sweet and lovely I think after watching this dance I feel like they maybe are in the danger zone with Annabel and Johannes, both of these two couples need to step up a level if they want to make it into the final.
