Bobby Heenan makes his WCW debut at Clash of The Champions 26 | January 27, 1994.
He was originally brought in to replace Jesse Ventura, his former client, as the color commentator for WCW Saturday Night and eventually took over Ventura's position as the company's lead commentator, replacing him for pay-per-view events and on the syndicated WCW Worldwide and Clash of the Champions events produced for TBS.

Bobby Heenan ... 40+ years in the wrestling business. Over 20 years involved in wrestling television production......and when Heenan went to Bischoff to tell him of some of the improvements he thought would help WCW, Bischoff basically fobbed him off as just an announcer who's help wasn't needed. That's when Heenan knew he was just going to do his commentary and collect his pay checks. He knew the company would ultimately fail at some point. The problem with WCW was too many who were running things were not wrestling people, were not television people ... they were bean counters, accountants. Ted Turner's money people. And when you mix it in with top talent like Hogan, Nash, Sting, Luger and Flair all basically having Creative Control in their contracts ... and then add in idiots like Vince Russo who's only talent was watching Jerry Springer ... it was a ticking time bomb. They got lucky with the original nWo angle taking off and making WCW the hottest wrestling company on the planet from 1996-1998. But Heenan was 100% right, they didn't know how to do it properly and eventually it died.
