I am absolutely in love with this tune man. Bobby Rush has been a music staple for longer then I’ve been alive. I am very glad that my dad introduced his music to me in my late teens/early 20’s. (My dad put me on to so much great music early on, Beatles, Grateful Dead, George Thorogood, The Band, Earth Wind and Fire, The Sex Pistols, in return for that one I introduced him to The Buzzcocks, and so many more. My mom is a pianist and brought all the classical music to me and both of them brought me the greats of blues and jazz. I’ve gotten to bring heavy metal and rap and other stuff to them, it’s a very satisfying give and take 😊. I’m sorry, this tangent went on so long I’m just so very grateful for them). But I have such a weird déjà vu or something going on because I looked it up and found that this song was released in 2023 but the doo doo doo dah doo doo doo part is something I feel like I heard ages ago. Is it sampled? Was this song originally released earlier and this is a rerelease? Have I just lost my damn mind? 😅 Somebody please help me lol.
