They don't look overly complicated to me, of course I speak from the perspective of a welder fabricator. If a guy could find a set to copy, it wouldn't be that hard to flash up a set, you would want to use a steel like QT100 or something like that, scrap bin at the shop I work at is full of chunks of plate like that. The bend at the front, if you don't have access to a brake press, you could probably just weld in a spacer plate on a flat plate, to keep the mounting geometry the same.

Well I finally found a great used set that my local dealer sold me for $500. I called them several times over the last 6 months and was told they didn't have any and new ones are not available. Well it turns out my persistence paid off. I finally found someone to go out in the yard and look around. He said they have been sitting there for 10 years. Also, fyi, Bobcat of Buffalo NY can get you a new set for about $1,700. They are still available.

@@dennisfarquhar380 OK, I have some info. Let's see if this helps before I go any deeper. The hoses going to the bucket cylinder and arm cylinder look to be the same diameter. Printed on the side of the hose is SAE100R2AT-6 10mm (3/8) X 2W. The fitting on the hose that goes to the base end of the bucket cylinder has part number 6538438. The bucket cylinder hoses are 56 and 33.5 inches long. The arm cylinder hoses are both 16 inches long. Let me know if this is what you are needing.

@@BeltedGallowayHomestead Thank you, yes thats exactly what I need. I don't need the lengths and part numbers though. Only the prints or size on the side of the rubber hydraulic hoses as that is not in the parts manual I have.

What's a reasonable price range for the 709?

@@vector006 Thanks for the question. I have seen one go for $2500 at auction that had rusty rods in the cylinders. I see great condition 709s sell from $4000 to $6000.

I would not recommend it, but I think it is possible. I did see an old timer reach back while setting in the backhoe seat and move the unit around with the joysticks.

Thanks for the question. This can be frustrating. It is the same process as you are setting in the seat and activating remote hydraulics. Put the lap bar down, press the same buttons and you should see the hoses jump going to the digger. Do you have the safety valve that I had an issue with? Let me know, we will get it going.

@@BeltedGallowayHomestead Looks like theyre on backwards to me aswell. Did you find an adjustment for how sensitive the main boom was? That was pretty crazy how fast it moved.

@@CNKCLAN2 Yes, that black knob engages with the skid steer faceplate. I plan on having it engage with the faceplate at a comfortable flow. Thanks for the question!

@@anthonypendleton957 make sure it comes with the correct mounting hooks. They can be difficult to find.
